Courses include reading, spelling, writing, literature, composition, social studies, mathematics, grammar, science, health, music, art, craft, home economics, and agriculture.

One general register for students at Parkway School from 1944 to 1954. Includes names, guardians, and addresses of students as well as recording their promotion at the school from grades Kindergarten to 10. In the back of the register are the principal's notes which include attendance and reasons why students left school, information on student promotions, library equipment, pupil supplies, health inspection records, religious instruction records, age grade reports, lists of teachers, trustee financial statements, and a log book detailing the history of the school. Inset into the book are census information, annual financial statement for 1949, curriculum for 1955, statistical report for 1954, clipping regarding the death of Howard Robertson.

One geography notebook kept be Elma Schaefer while a student in Waterloo for the year 1901. While the notebook is described as being for geography class, there are also mathematical equations, drawings, and doodles. A note on the cover indicates that this was kept by Elma's daughter Idessa.

Minute book for meetings of the Central Home and School Association. The first meeting was held November 27, 1945 as a preparatory meeting to decide on creating an organization. The minute book continues to April 24, 1951.

Minute book for meetings of the teachers of the Waterloo Public School for the years 1906 to 1932. The first meeting was set to organize the teachers as an association. Topics throughout the minute book include courses, school materials, games and field days, etc. During the years of the First World War there is a great deal of discussion about efforts made in Canada on the homefront to support families in Canada with soldiers overseas, as well as those impacted in Europe.

This series contains correspondence sent by or received by Mary Johnston as well as other administrative and legal documents maintained by her relating to the activities and affairs of the teachers' organizations of which she was a member. These include the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario, The Federation of Women Teachers' Associations of Ontario, the Waterloo County Board of Education, and the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association.

This series also includes materials maintained by Mary Johnston when she worked for the Waterloo County Women Teachers' Association in various capacitites including Key Teacher, President of Unit 1, as a W.C.W.T.A. Past President, as the association's County Adviser and P.R., and as a member of the Book Project Committee.

Also included in this series is a file containing correspondence sent to parents by Mary Johnston when she worked with the Kindergarten at Brighton School.
