File consists of three pieces of correspondence. One from E.P. to Janie, one from Rev. Edwin Clement to E.P. and one from E.P. to James B. O'Brian.

Ca. [65] p. ms. diary contained in two coverless notebooks (taped together) kept by J. H. Shoults. This diary covers the period Jan. 1, 1877 to Dec. 31, 1877 when Shoults lived in Little Britain, and it contains primarily daily entries (in some sections of this diary the entries are not daily) recording personal, social, and professional activities, as well as accounts of weather conditions. Diary entries relate to Shoults' activities as a minister, and include the names of the places where he preached and of the Bible readings which formed the basis for his services. Reference is also made to the many church meetings he participated in, to funerals and baptisms, to a Christian conference, and to other church activities in which he was involved. Descriptions of family, social, and parish visits are also contained in this diary, including the names of many friends and acquaintances. Gardening activities are also described in this diary.

One letter from Ellis Bray to Abraham Bray, dated January 21, 1877 from Cheshire, England. Ellis Bray is a cousin of Abraham Bray, son of Uncle James. Ellis gives a detailed account of his life over the last ten years traveling through the United States as a labourer, making reference to Chinese labourers and "troublesome" Native Americans. The letter also includes details of Ellis' life back in England, where he married and became a station master, of his father's death on February 12, 1874, and accounts of Bray family still living in England, including James' siblings Uncle William and Aunt Mary, and Ellis' siblings.

Davies, a Montreal solicitor, including a letter to the Secretary Treasurer of Galt, Ont. re a property "opposite Lovel's Hotel", one to the Mayor of Warminster, Eng. about money bequeathed to individuals, and one letter regarding the results of his queries. Includes: "Last Will of William Seagram," March 2, 1892; "Re Seagram Power of Attorney, Copy," from William Seagram, Montreal to John Seagram, England; "The Executors of theLate Ann Frowd Davies in Account with the Estate," Oct. 3, 1878. Also included are one calling card, and a family record of the children of Thomas Seagram, 1810-1878 and Emily Hore, 1819-1871.

Policy of insurance for Daniel Scherer.

File consists of an insurance policy for Daniel Scherer, a cooper from the Town of Waterloo, from The Economical Mutual Fire Insurance Co. of Berlin. Insurance covers home, barn, and household furnishings, etc. for property on William Street in Waterloo. Includes an additional agreement transfering the policy to Henry Koch of Breslau for securing payment of a mortgage.

Memorandum Book: Cochran & Co., New York.

One small leather-bound booklet with inscription "From J.N. Moyer to his Nephew Orpheus Moyer Schantz, Campden, Lincoln Co., Ont., 5th April, 1869. This booklet is the "annual circular" of the Cochran Co. and alternates blank pages with a catalogue of dry goods carried. Orpheus Schantz began to use this as a drawing book in 1878, and it contains drawings in pencil of animals both domestic and foreign, each signed and dated.

Includes personal correspondence to Erwin, birth and marriage certificates, the wills of Clara and of Erwin's maternal grandfather John Baptist Mayer, a deed of land for a property on Mansion Street (Kitchener), certificates for Erwin's memberships in the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club and the Grand River Masonic Lodge, and other documents.

File also includes several photographs, as well as funeral notices for Erwin's father Charles Greb (1934), mother Caroline Greb (1931), sister Eleanora Dumart (1929), and nephew William Dumart (1925).

She also mentions strawberry picking, friends visiting and that she is planning on going to the Mechanic's Institute Library. She also entreats her father to come visit her soon by taking the Great Western and Hamilton line.
