He asks Harvey to be his middle-man in finding a way to accomplish this while also releasing him from any feeling of obligation. King notes that Kingsmere is looking beautiful and that he has a good gardener, and adds a handwritten postscript emphasizing that Harvey need not take any trouble unless he knows "just the person." He notes that Kingsmere is looking lovely and commends Harvey for travelling to England on holiday: "There will be plenty of time to rest and reflect, and recall the past, when you get your new library into shape!" King advises Arthur, having heard that he had to give up on a course because of chicken-pox, to put his health ahead of everything else in order to fully recuperate. King reports on the “gratifying” election results in Ontario and Saskatchewan, and anticipates a general election. King reports that the past winter’s arthritis has disappeared, also that he has been to Williamsburg to see Dr. Locke[1] and is wearing Locke shoes [for fallen arches]. In regard to his nephews’ chosen professions of medicine and engineering, King says “The service which can be rendered the world through electrical development has become more apparent in our age than in all the centuries of the past, and I believe that we are only at the beginning of discoveries in that field which will revolutionize the thought, as well as the daily life and habits of the people. “ Salutation: “My dear Arthur”; Signature: none [all after p. 4 missing].

He makes reference to a photograph of himself and "The President" sent to him by Harvey. King tells Harvey that he has received two letter from "your friend Borgstrom" and says he has written again to the Minister of Labour and the National Employment Commission on his behalf. He asks Harvey bring Florence and Carl Borgstrom to visit Kingsmere so that he might "sound him out" before possibly obtaining his professional opinion about improvements at Kingsmere. The report by Emma Kaufman dated Sept. 19, 1937 discusses mobilization in Japan.

Of note is correspondence to and from Kaufman and Wegenast following the end of the trial in March 1937 about the possibility of an appeal based on the appointment of Paul LeDuc as the new Attorney General, and a telegraph from A. R. Kaufman to Dorothea Palmer congratulating her on the dismissal of the appeal and advising to "not grant newspaper interviews."

Sims' collection of trees and shrubs, also requesting labels to be made for attaching to his specimens. Includes many lists annotated in pencil by Harvey, also many pencilled lists in his handwriting, as well as some mention of swans and ducks. Included in this folder are several letters to and from the Minister of Highways, T.B. McQuesten, regarding establishing a botanical garden in Hamilton.

One letter has a photograph pasted-on of a party held in Emma Kaufman's home in Tokyo, Japan on March 19, 1937.

Ballantyne as "the representative of the Second Brigade Area on the Coronation contingent" and that the Honourable Ian Mackenzie has promised to consider Ballantyne's credentials when the time comes for selecting the contingent members. He expresses happiness at Florence's improvement but says of the Coronation: "I am well nigh terrified at what I know will be expected in this particular on the part of the Canadian delegation, and of its head in particular." Sims to William Lyon Mackenzie King dated October 22, 1937, following up on King's letter of October 16 and replying that he has ordered two copies of Violet Markham's book; also that he had spoken to "Mr. Sanderson, the Chief Librarian of the Toronto Public Library." This letter is accompanied by a carbon copy dated the same day of Harvey J. Sims' letter to Hodder & Stoughton Ltd. In London, England, requesting copies of Violet Markham's book and mentioning that it had been suggested to him by "The Rt. Hon. Mackenzie King, Prime Minister of Canada." " He leaves it to Harvey to explain "to our friends" and to pass on King's appreciation of the thought. In closing he sends Christmas wishes to the family and birthday wishes to Harvey.
