File consists of nine letters received by Martha Rieder from family members and friends. Most letters are from her daughter Margaret Paisley, and one includes two photographs of Margaret and Martha with Margaret's daughter Mary Helen. Letters include envelopes; three envelopes contain stamps.

Also includes 1 letter from Ella Anthes Cook (June 30, 1914) and a note from Talmon Rieder enclosed with another letter (December 25, 1914). Several letters are addressed individually to "mother", some include drawings and notes from Martha's children, and some are undated. Letters make reference to day to day happenings such as Margaret getting tonsillitis, Paul Rieder's birth, Talmon's busy work schedule, and the death of Henry William Anthes.

Includes snapshots of Martha and her family and friends, including her daughter Margaret and nieces and nephews; Talmon Henry Rieder is also present in some photographs. Includes snapshots taken at Penetanguishene, at picnics, at a factory, part of a May 24 procession, and other subjects.
