Minnie Maines: scrapbook.

This scrapbook contains only seven pages of clippings pasted in, with annotations by Minnie Maines. Topics include spiritualism in general and the Church of Divine Revelation in particular, and especially the activities of the Rev. F.J.T. Maines. A number of loose clippings were found inserted into this book as well.

Clippings dating from 1928 to 1953 on a variety of topics, probably belonging to Minnie Maines. Includes clippings relating to artists, authors and other prominent figures, to the Y.M.C.A., Y.W.C.A., copies of "The Homemaker" column., and clippings relating to World War II. Includes an undated booklet on Astronomy by Prof. C.A. Chant " covering the requirements in badges for Trail Rangers and Tuxis boys, Canadian Standard Efficiency Training," and a 1953 booklist from the London Spiritualist Alliance.

This folder actually contains material on a variety of topics and probably belonged to F.J.T. Maines. Includes two envelopes of material dating from 1915-1916. These include manuscript material: untitled sermon (?) on loyalty and war, 7 leaves; a hymn with music; a second untitled ms. sermon, 4 p.; manuscript notes on "Christian brotherhood". Includes ephemera and pamphlets produced for troops "On Active Service." Includes clippings relating to the war, to politics, and to topics of interest to F.J.T. Maines. A third gathering of material dates from 1931- 1939 and consists of clippings on topics such as world politics, Grey Owl, Niagara Falls, hawks, liquor legislation, poems, letters to the editor, etc.

Algonquin Park material.

Contains material created or collected by Jenny Pincock and probably retrieved from her cabin at Tea Lake. Includes one notebook with pencil attached containing diary notes from 1927 and from the summer of 1938, recording Jenny Pincock's thoughts and activities. This notebook has been used also to record notes of conversations with people and observations of their speech and appearance (including Tom Wattie and other rangers). Two other notebooks contain manuscript story drafts, one with title "When ducks fly north." Includes a 26 leaf manuscript draft of "When ducks fly north." Includes a number of manuscript and typescript poems, by Jenny Pincock and copies of poems by other authors, clippings, manuscript notes for story ideas, etc. Includes clippings about Algonquin Park and on other topics.
