Newspaper clippings relating to members of the Martin and Wilson families, the involvement of the Martin family and the Lincoln and Welland Regiment in World War II, and other subjects.

Series consists of 140 pieces of correspondence and a small amount of related ephemera and clippings. Includes mainly letters written to John Alexander and Jessie Martin from John Gartshore Martin during his service with the Canadian military during World War II, describing his daily activities, social outings, leaves, meetings with friends and relatives, and general news about the war.

Series also contains several letters from Wilson Martin, Jamie Martin, Jamie's financee Muriel Clift, and several other correspondents. The correspondence is in the form of letters, many of which include the original envelopes and stamps; aerograms with original stamps; and telegrams. Series also includes a small amount of correspondence between John Gartshore Martin and an acquaintance from Holland (1994-2004).

Series consists of decorations, medals, and awards presented to John Gartshore Martin, John Alexander Martin, and Jessie Martin, as well as various military insignia and memorabilia.

Material relating to John Alexander and Jessie Martin as well as their descendants and ancestors. Includes ephemera, ms. notes, souvenirs, a ts. history and a ts. biography, and other material. Includes records relating to the wedding of John and Jessie, and the career, community service, and funeral of John. Most of the material was probably collected and kept by Jessie Martin.

Photographs relating to the families and lives of John Gartshore and Mary Ann Martin, John Alexander and Jessie Martin, Richard and Margaret Wilson, and Rev.William M. and Christena Martin. Includes snapshots, individual and group portraits (some mounted), and photograph albums containing snapshots, newspaper clippings, and memorabilia.

Series also includes photographs taken in Normandy and Holland during World War II and photographs of other subjects. The albums contain snapshots of John Alexander and Jessie Martin and their children growing up, Jamie Martin's grave, John Martin at an army training camp, Mary Ann Kabel and her friends, and a trip by members of the Wilson family.

Includes certificates of qualification, service, and recognition; ephemera; correspondence; maps; and other memorabilia.

Series also includes scrapbooks containing photographs, newspaper clippings, ephemera, and correspondence relating to John's experience in the war. Also present are certificates relating to Lt. William Jamieson (Jamie) Martin and Wilson Martin.
