Three copy prints: one of construction machinery clearing the lake bed, one a group photograph of six men with a construction trailer[?] behind, and one of two men in a doorway, labelled Russell Faulkner, Sandy MacDonald. Includes 16 copy negatives, one dated 1939 of the GRCC members at Shand Dam, 1939, the others dated 1956 and 1957 of the Conestogo Dam construction.

Consists of materials relating to the early history of the Grand River Conservation Commission and the development of the Grand River Conservation Authority.

Includes newspaper clippings, including two articles by Hugh Templin (1966), ms. notes by an unidentified author concerning the development of the GRCC from 1931 to 1946, four negatives in an envelope labelled "Drayton: Conestogo river, May 22, 1952," an advance proof of a cover page of a publication titled : Flood Control in Southwestern Ontario, and a pamphlet by the Grand Valley Group of Engineers titled : A Plan to Grow Wealth and Eliminate Waste, 1936.

Shand dam : construction.

Consists of six photographs of the Shand Dam site on the Grand River above Fergus, Ontario, during the construction phase. The following identifications are provided on verso: Shand : widening and deepening river diversion. Shand : looking west across dam showing forms for east wing wall; Shand : commencing concrete operations on east wing wall; Shand: pouring concrete by means of pumpcrete machine; Shand : east wing wall completed for winter, showing backfill; Shand : floor of spillway prepared for winter.

Belwood Lake photos, Shand dam

Five copy prints of construction machinery clearing the lake bed, one photograph of Shand Dam, Aug. 14, 1940 and 16 col. snapshots of Belwood Lake in the 1960's. These latter have tape on the verso and have adhered to each other. Also includes a photocopy of the Aug. 8, 1942 Globe and Mail account of the opening of the Shand Dam.

File consists of seven glass plate negatives showing scenes of the Grand River and of the Kitchener-Waterloo region. Includes scenes of the Shand Dam construction, river fortification, houses and businesses along the river and of a Scout troupe.
