Includes correspondence & additional papers relating to publication of this work, intended as a companion volume to Building with wood. Possibly not published. Content may have been used to produce the revised edition of Building with wood in 1980.

Peter McArthur log house : Doon Pioneer Village.

Five images of the Peter McArthur log house at Doon Pioneer Village (now Doon Heritage Crossroads) in Kitchener, Ont. Caption on the verso of the image used in the book states "Peter McArthur's log house now in the Pioneer Village, near Doon. Note overhang on both sides which is a very rare type of construction". Also includes a handwritten note regarding the building.

It consisted of two long compartments separated by an interior log partition. In order to give the pigs some exercise during the cold winter a gallery ran the full length of the west side. This gallery was cantilevered out from the main building. AD. 1825."
