Also contains ts. (photocopy) excerpt of General Manager's report to the Executive Committee, April 27, 1979, and three maps produced by Canada Department of Energy, Mines and Resources showing the Grand River and its tributaries in the environs of Galt, Brantford and Guelph, Ont., respectively. The maps have been annotated or otherwise marked to show areas of ice jams and other features associated with flooding.

Consists of a binder containing materials relating to the emergency preparedness and flood warning measures undertaken by the Grand River Conservation Authority and its precursor, the Grand River Conservation Commission, and various Canadian and American governmental bodies. Includes correspondence, offprints and photocopies of periodical articles, pamphlets concerning control of flood damage.
Also present are blueline charts of rainfall amounts of Grand River run-off, prepared by the Grand River Conservation Commission, 1948 and blueline graph of water flow at Lake Conestogo, Belwood Reservoir and other sites on the Grand River System, prepared by the GRCC, 1960.

Primarily contains ts. (photocopy and original) correspondence between the Grand River Conservation Authority and federal, provincial and municipal governments concerning flood control programs and projects, including dams and reservoirs, on the Grand River and its tributaries. A large proportion of the correspondence is concerned with matters of funding.
Inserted in the file are : a Kitchener-Waterloo Record article titled : Flood wiped out pair's $10,000 dream, May 6, 1972; and a Regional Municipality of Waterloo pamphlet titled : Flood Warning System, amended March 20, 1980.
The following ms. note is inscribed on the folder : "Do not take apart: file assembled for Flood Inquiry, May, 1974."

Consists of materials assembled by the Grand River Conservation Authority apparently in connection with a trial commencing in June, 1980 involving a lawsuit against the GRCA for property damage sustained by plaintiffs during the 1974 flood of the Grand River. Contains ts. (original and photocopy) correspondence to and from the Grand River Conservation Authority from their legal representatives, the firm of Lochead Sills Barristers, Kitchener, Ont.
Also includes ts.(original and photocopies) correspondence from 1948 to 1969 between the GRCA and federal and provincial authorities concerning flood control projects, and between the GRCA and legal firms, which appears to have been collated as evidence. Also includes ts.(photocopy) schedule of evidence presented by the GRCA at the hearings of the Ontario Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Grand River Flood, 1974; and ms.(original) report titled : Report on Grand River Flood Event, May 16-19, 1974, by the Grand River Conservation Authority.
