The booklet reviews the GRCC's general plan for conservation of waters of the Grand River, particularly its proposals to establish reservoirs upon the upper reaches of the Grand River and its tributaries. Accompanying the publication is a cover letter from William Philip, Chairman, Grand River Conservation Commission to an unidentified recipient, dated August 19, 193

Inserted in the booklet are :

  • printed itinerary titled, "Route of Trip Along Grand River," by the Grand River Valley Boards of Trade, Thursday, September 24, 1931, which lists proposed dam sites from Kitchener, Ont. to Grand Valley, Ont. to be visited by the Grand River Valley Boards of Trade members;
  • ts.(photocopy) [draft?] of a periodical titled, Our Valley : Grand Valley Conservation Authority, Vol.1, no.2 (June, 1954): 1-4; and
  • Department of Planning & Development pamphlet titled Conestogo Dam and Reservoir, which includes background information and map of the proposed dam site. The words, Turning of the first sod, May 30, 1955 have been handwritten on the pamphlet.
