Thomas Lacey séance collection.

Audio reel recordings of séances held under the supervision of medium Thomas Lacey as well as other events, messages, and music. The séances were held primarily in Kitchener and Waterloo, Ontario although some were held in other areas in Ontario and the Unites States of America. Prior to donation, some of the reels were transferred to audio cassettes. The audio cassettes are also included in the collection. Also includes a cue card index to the séances and a notebook listing séances held at 362 Frederick St. in Kitchener, Ontario.

File consists of material relating to speeches and remarks made by Carl A. Pollock at the University of Waterloo (UW) for building and exhibit openings, convocation ceremonies, dinners and luncheons, senate meetings, contests, and other events.

Includes typed copies of Pollock's remarks (some annotated, some carbon copies), ms. notes, event programs (some annotated), approximately 21 pieces of incoming and outgoing correspondence, a UW press release, and two photographs of Pollock with students at an exhibit. File also includes press clippings about Pollock and about the University of Waterloo.

A complete report of a séance held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Sheldon at 36 Willow Street, Waterloo. The sitters present at this circle were Mr. Thomas Lacey, Mrs. E. W. Sheldon, Mr. E. W. Sheldon, Mr. M. Swartz, Mrs. M. Swartz, Mr. L. Swartz, Mrs. Thomas Lacey, Mr. G. Steiss, Mrs. G. Steiss, Mr. O. G. Smith, Master Cark Smith, and Mrs. O. G. Smith. The spirits alleged to have communicated with through Thomas Lacey during this séance were Wickie, C.D., Mr. Maskeline, Yetta, Chas Oestreich, Orlandis, Gladys Steiss, Ward, Hinchcliffe, Mike, the Major, Walter, Willie Hudson, Mr. Jones, Reverend Vale Owen, Blue Snake, and Mr. Stead. The séance had several unidentified spirits, some of which communicated through song. The spirit guide Abudha Khan was present at this séance.

An audio-visual recording of an interview conducted by Dr. Anne Millar with Judi Jewinski, retired Administrative Dean at Renison University College, for the Oral History Hub pilot project. The interview includes discussions about Jewinski's family background, their decision to come to Waterloo and the path that brought them here, as well as their thoughts about the institution and where it will be at 100 years old, in 2057. Additional topics include teaching, writing and grammar, drama, English literature, Renison College, Faculty of Arts, students, poetry readings, Association of English as a Second Language Association of Ontario, English Language Institute, Centre for Teaching Excellence, Gordon Stubley Language Competency Committee, Maurice Evans, Richard “Dick” Knight, Grace Logan, Harry Tuyn, Neil Hultin, Harry Logan, Gordon Slethaug, Tanya Missere Mihas, Michael Smyth, and Switzerland.
