File consists of material relating to a case brought by J.J. Westgate against Talmon Henry Rieder in 1911 regarding the consolidation of rubber companies, and material relating to the formation of a felt syndicate by Rieder, D. Lorne McGibbon of Montreal, A.J. Kimmel of Elmira, Ontario, and others. J.J. Westgate was connected in some way to the formation of the felt syndicate, possibly as a competitor. Includes: agreements regarding the felt syndicate; correspondence; ms. notes; a writ of summons and plaintiff's declaration (carbon copy); the ts. statement of Talmon Henry Rieder; a reprinted series of correspondence between McGibbon and Rieder (Sept. 1906 to May 1907); financial statements of the Berlin Rubber Manufacturing Company Limited and of the Merchants Rubber Company Limited for 1907, 1908, and 1909; and a machine print-out of several linear feet containing data about the production of footwear from several companies.

Much of the correspondence relates to the selling of the house at 610 Belmont Avenue in Montreal, as well as shares in Ames Holden McCready and Dominion Rubber, and insurance policies. Correspondence is among executor Hugo Wellein, executor H. Milton Cook, real estate agent John Findlay, individuals at Ames Holden McCready, and others.

Also present are drafts of some outgoing letters by Martha, a financial statement of the estate, an agreement regarding mortgage bonds of Ames Holden McCready, and a certified copy of a resolution passed at the April 26, 1922, annual meeting of Ames Holden McCready regarding the death of Rieder.

File consists of material relating to the wedding of Lydia Louise Anthes and Albert B. Breithaupt held in Berlin (now Kitchener) in 1901. Includes a photocopy of an undated newspaper clipping about the wedding and a reproduction of a photograph of the wedding party and guests. William Lyon Mackenzie King was best man in the wedding and appears in the photograph.

Letter from Jacob Anthes to his parents, Martin and Catharine. He shares that everyone with the exception of Sara is healthy, but that she's still going to school. He says the family is in good spirits and are speaking English well. Martha is noted as having a difficult time knowing how to cook and that until they got some new potatoes she had been relying on bread and coffee, though Anthes emphasizes that they're still better off than many others. He provides updates about the prices for various crop yields explaining that the buyers are still figuring out how things should work and that he'll rely on credit if need be to get by. Martin and Catherine are also provided updates about the building Jacob is working that is described as 42x50 with arched windows and a small tower. He concludes by noting the help of S. Eby and Mr. Gilger before asking asking Wolf is getting along.

File consists of material relating to Talmon Henry Rieder's contract with the United States Rubber Company (Canadian Consolidated Rubber Company was a subsidiary). Includes records relating to five year contracts for his position with the Canadian Consolidated Rubber Co. signed in 1910 and 1915 and the attempted negotiation of a contract in 1919 (and Rieder's subsequent resignation as president), as well as records relating to Rieder's salary recommendations for the company for 1918 and the value sharing plan of the United States Rubber Co.

Includes incoming and outgoing correspondence, signed agreements, and brochures. Correspondence is among Talmon Henry Rieder, Samuel P. Contents of the box include: sewing kit items (needle case, needle, hook, thimble, etc.), pin cushion for displaying trinkets, 2 trinkets (birch bark canoe, souvenir of [?] tower), small paper fan with painting of matador and bull, mother of pearl bottle with decorative metal trim and cork stopper (scent flask?), clam shells attached with metal hinges and painted with flowers (souveinr of Niagara Falls [?]; paint flaking off; containing some type of fragrant material?),

Series consists of material created and accumulated by John S. Anthes and material accumulated by Talmon Henry Rieder and Martha Rieder during the process of settling his estate. Some of the latter material relates to the administration and eventual sale of the Anthes Furniture Company. File consists of four ribbons collected by the Rieder Anthes family. Two are campaign ribbons showing support for Sir Oliver Mowat, premier of Ontario. One is a mourning ribbon for Queen Victoria and one is a ribbon of support for Canadian troops in the Second Boer War. The Boer War ribbon has been stamped "J.I. Frank Anthes Nov. 5 1900."

Letter from Jacob Anthes to his parents, Martin and Catharine, in response to a latter received from them on November 30th. Anthes makes note of the winter conditions in Carrick and that he will be preaching at two different locations on Sunday. Letter from Jacob Anthes to his parents, Martin and Catharine providing an update about his health and preaching activities. Anthes notes that he's unwell following extensive speaking engagements and travelling in snowy conditions, on roads in poor condition. He notes that several people in Port Elgin are sick with typhoid and comments that Old Bricker is unwell. Anthes also notes that Brother Busch is sick and struggling with building the new preacher’s home, and offers brief updates about visits from J. Schneider and Brother Umbach. Also included are comments about the weather and questions about various people, likely friends and family.
