Four pieces of personal correspondence one written to Emma Kaufman, and three written by Emma Kaufman. These three letters are written to friends in Japan and are dated Dec. 4, 5 and 7 respectively, and describe her efforts to gather material to send back with a Japanese friend on the Dec. 14th sailing of a ship from Los Angeles to Japan.

Letters received by Mary Ham from family and friends during her trip to Europe including Edna Louise Augustine, Emma Kaufman, Loraine Augustine and Grace Augustine, among others. From June to September in 1950, Mary travelled with her friend Marion Gellatly (nee Eckel) to the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

Also includes three reports relating to activities of the Tokyo Young Women's Christian Association (Y.W.C.A.), one by Emma Kaufman, one unattributed with typescript notes on a lecture, and one providing details of a ceremony honouring Emma Kaufman held June 24, 1939. Also contains the annual report of the Tokyo Y.W.C.A. for 1939, a report included in the "World's Y.W.C.A. Monthly Oct. 1939," and clippings. The letter dated May 6, 1939 is headed "Confidential" and describes conditions in Shanghai and Nanking (Nanjing) in China as witnessed by and reported to Emma Kaufman.

Travel diary written by Mary Ham to record her experience travelling and working as a camp counselor in western Canada during the summer of 1949. Diary entries were written chronologically by date and describe Mary's experiences over the course of one day. The diary is incomplete as the entries end on August 11, 1949 while Mary is still in Alberta, Canada subsequently leaving no record of her travels to Vancouver, British Columbia and her passage home.

Includes snapshots of Mary Ham, Edna Louise Augustine, Albert William Augustine, Albert Jacob Augustine, and John Ross Augustine both at home and at "Hartman's, Georgian Bay.
