Westgate against Talmon Henry Rieder in 1911 regarding the consolidation of rubber companies, and material relating to the formation of a felt syndicate by Rieder, D. Lorne McGibbon of Montreal, A.J. Kimmel of Elmira, Ontario, and others. J.J. Westgate was connected in some way to the formation of the felt syndicate, possibly as a competitor.

  • 2 trinkets (birch bark canoe, souvenir of [?] tower),

Includes: mounted prints of paintings of women probably from a souvenir booklet (Sistine Madonna by Raphael, etc.), colour illustrations, pamphlets and brochures, flyers from the Ontario Women's Christian Temerance Union, a pin, a pocket calendar, a wedding announcement (Vincent Bennett and Catherine Olive Breithaupt), and other material. Includes pamphlet "Home Secrets," and three issues of "The Little Monthly" (New York: The Little Company): vol. 3 no. 2 (Nov., 1893) and vol. 4, no. 1 and 2 (Jan. and Feb., 1894).

Includes snapshots of Martha Rieder, her children, and grandchildren, as well as other family members and friends. Talmon Henry Rieder is present in some snapshots. Many photographs include members of the families of John C. and Carrie Breithaupt, Albert and Louisa Breithaupt, and H. Milton and Ella Anthes Cook; Alma and Eva Rieder are also present in some photographs.

Photographs were taken at Penetanguishene, Georgian Bay, on Lake Huron, Port Dalhousie and other travel destinations; at various cottages; at the Rieder home at 58 Roy Street in Kitchener; and other locations. File also includes a colour print-out of a photograph Margaret Paisley [?] and an unidentified woman.

File consists of 33 letters received by John S. and Lydia Catherine Anthes from Martha Rieder. Also includes 1 letter from Ella Anthes Cook (June 30, 1914) and a note from Talmon Rieder enclosed with another letter (December 25, 1914). Several letters are addressed individually to "mother", some include drawings and notes from Martha's children, and some are undated. Letters make reference to day to day happenings such as Margaret getting tonsillitis, Paul Rieder's birth, Talmon's busy work schedule, and the death of Henry William Anthes.
