Television commercials.

File consists of three film reels containing television commercials for men's and ladies' Hush Puppies and Greb Cat Treads and Kodiak work boots. The commercials have been converted to a DVD which is also found in the file.

Film includes the commercial movie Big Fish (a Castle film produced by Eugene W. Castle and edited by Don Hancock) [0:10-03:47] and footage of a Schneider family fishing trip to Lake Nipissing with Herbert, Frederick and Howard Schneider, Hyalie MacDonald and others [03:48-07:30]. Includes shots of Herbert and Howard proudly showing their catches to the camera, views of the lake and sandy beach, the group cleaning fish along a rocky shoreline, and the cabin where they stayed.

Canister includes handwritten notes about film that read: "Herb Fred on top of cabin of boat in Lake Nipissing, Hyalie MacDonald, [illegible], Howie, [illegible] lunch + cleaning fish + cabin in woods, sandy beach".

Series consists of film reels and DVD copies of home movies shot by the Guy family. Includes films showing family members and friends participating in various activities both on vacation and at home in Waterloo. Many of the films show 110 John Boulevard and the early development of the Westmount region of Waterloo.

Film of street and habour scenes in Le Havre, France. Includes the Monument aux Morts and a view of Schneider surnames on the list of the dead; the front of the Bellevue hotel and restaurant; outdoor urinals; the exteriors of the Grand Théâtre and the Galeries du Havre; and a movie poster for Le petit lord fauntleroy; and an unidentified man raising a beer in salute and then spilling it.

Film canister includes handwritten notes about film that read: "War monument - Schneiders, Harbour, Sailing boat, Street scenes, semi open toilets, Movie ad, Butcher shops, Who? spills beer, Harbour + Restaurants."

Rotary picnic.

Film of a Rotary picnic at an unidentified location. Attendees (all adult white men) are captured participating in land- and water-based activities and socializing. They appear in costumes throughout sometimes dressed as [homeless?] people, English police officers, aristocrats, etc. Include attendees seated and standing in a large horse-drawn wagon with "The Devonshire Nabobs" painted on side; the pouring of [beer?] from a white pitcher and the stacking of used glasses; people in paddle boats, including one named "Smidgie," paddling in circles, trying to tip each other over and splashing others with water; camera pans of attendees seated and standing at various points of the event; a costumed band featuring brass instruments performing; a water hose fight; shots of adults in a life-sized [bull?] costume being led around by a butcher; views of an unidentified building, possibly at a golf course, where the event was held; attendees playing horseshoes; and people teeing off.

Church of the Good Shepherd : cornerstone dedication picnic.

Adults and children leaving the [Church of the New Jerusalem], presumably after a service; an external view of the church building and architecture taken from across the street and up close, including a view of a sign that reads: "Church of the New Jerusalem / Rev. John W. Spiers Pastor;" a brass band performing in uniform with partially built building visible in background along with a view of officials, including J.M. Schneider standing on a podium; a view of a crowd of spectators; a 1935 stone being put into place as others, including J.M. Schneider look on; remarks being given next to stone after its placement; multiple pans of seated and standing spectators in at the cornerstone placement event; and children, including those from the Schneider family, watching mortar and stones being laid on top of cornerstone.

The film then jumps forward in time to: external view of the completed church building during winter, seen from the corner of Margaret Ave. and Queen St. with vehicles parked and driving along a snow covered Margaret included in frame; people dressed for cold weather exiting the church building; a camera pan of the stained glass windows above the front entrance; external views of the church architecture; more people leaving the church, several of whom smile toward the camera, and others walking along Queen.

Film taken during the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. Includes the opening ceremonies and the entrance of Olympic teams from Canada, Japan and Germany; the lighting of the Olympic flame in the stadium cauldron; several shots of stadium spectators with arms extended in Nazi salute; views of the Olympic grounds and environs; views of Nazi flags on display on Olympic grounds and outside of the [Reichstag?]; and multiple sporting events including: track, hurdles, polo, and water polo.
