This file also contains correspondence, an original typed biographical note, handwritten notes, and 14 p. photocopied typescript of an excerpt from Part III of Cloister Death, an unpublished novel by Nancy-Lou Patterson.

Contains handwritten drafts and notes, and tss. (some with corrections) of two articles (includes originals, photocopies, and final computer output versions) written by Nancy-Lou Patterson. The first article is entitled "Joseph Arthur Greeves (1895-1966)", while the second is entitled "They Stand Together: The Letters of C.S. Lewis to Arthur Greeves (1914-1963), Edited by Walter Hooper (London: Collins, 1979)". These articles appeared in The C.S. Lewis Companion which was published by HarperCollins to mark the 100th anniversary of Lewis's birth.

Also includes typed biographical note about Nancy-Lou Patterson. Additionally contains correspondence relating to the submission of publications to The C.S. Lewis Companion, as well as a work-for-hire contract between Nancy-Lou Patterson and D. Schultz & Co. of Colorado Springs, Colorado, in addition to guidelines for contributors, and a sample entry for contributors.

Also includes a letter dated Sept. 23, 1997 sent to Susan Burke, curator at the Joseph Schneider Haus from Sandra Woolfrey, Director at Wilfrid Laurier University Press. This letter contains critical commentary on The Tramp Room and also relates to the matter of who should publish this novel. This letter appears to have been forwarded to Nancy-Lou Patterson by Susan Burke.

Contains a wide variety of materials relating to Barricade Summer including a Listening Response Log, created by Ann Larsen, to accompany the novel Barricade Summer (Port Elgin, Ont. : Brucedale Press, 1997). Some announcements and advertising for this novel issued by Brucedale Press are also contained in this folder.

Also includes clippings from newspapers and serial publications. A few of these clippings have a biographical focus, while most relate to book promotion events and readings from Barricade Summer given by Nancy-Lou Patterson at public libraries, at bookstores, at schools on the Bruce Peninsula, and at other locations. Flyers which were produced for these readings are also contained in this file.

Also included in this file are typed itinearies of the author and hand-drawn maps relating to readings she gave at various schools on the Bruce Peninsula during 1996. This file also includes book reviews of Barricade Summer.

Also contained in this file is correspondence. Much of it takes the form of illustrated cards and letters sent to the author by children at schools where Nancy-Lou Patterson gave readings. Other correspondence included in this file takes the form of letters sent to the author by Brucedale Press regarding Barricade Summer and correspondence with other individuals regarding the promotional events for Barricade Summer .

32 col. photographs, most of which were taken during the author's readings at schools on the Bruce Peninsula, are also contained in this file, as well as illustrated banners presumably made by the children in these schools in honour of Nancy-Lou Patterson's visits. Also incudes b&w photocopy of photographs of children (unidentified).

Contains materials relating to a talk which Nancy-Lou Patterson was scheduled to give at the Toronto C.S. Lewis Society entitled "Encountering C.S. Lewis". This was to form part of a centenary celebration of the life of C.S. Lewis. This event was, however, cancelled. This file includes 1 [2] p. corrected original typescript of this talk, in addition to 1 [2] p. photocopied typescript, and 2 handwritten drafts with varying pagination.

Also includes correspondence received by Nancy-Lou Patterson from the Toronto C.S. Lewis Society which includes details of the names of speakers and of the dates they will give presentations about C.S.Lewis during 1998 and 1999. Included on this list of events is the centenary celebration of the life of C.S. Lewis which was later cancelled.

Contains correspondence, handwritten notes, the September issue of the Wellington County Historical Society's newsletter, an information leaflet on this society and a photocopy of a map. All these materials relate to Nancy-Lou Patterson's address (Sept. 20, 1998) on the former McWilliams' residence on Drayton's main street, a heritage home, where several historical oil paintings were discovered in the mid-1980's. This event was sponsored by the Wellington County Historical Society in conjunction with the Women's Institute.

A copy of the Randburg Baptist Church's newsletter from March 1997, as well as a booklet relating to the Church's 1997 AGM, are also among the items included in this folder. Colour charts, sketches and graphs of the banner are also contained in this file as well as 21 col. snapshots.

Contains 2 handwritten drafts with varying pagination, and 8 p. corrected typed original of a presentation given by Nancy-Lou Patterson at an event entitled "C.S. Lewis: An Anglican for our Time", hosted by the Prayer Book Society of Canada (PBSC) Toronto Branch on Nov. 14, 1998. The title of this presentation by Nancy-Lou Patterson was "The Spirituality of C.S. Lewis".

Also includes two copies of the PBSC newsletter The Lamp (Michaelmas 1998) which contain an announcement of this event. Additionally contains a notice as to a typographical error in this issue of The Lamp, as well as an informational leaflet about the PBSC Toronto Branch, a hand-drawn map, and correspondence received by Nancy-Lou Patterson from Diana Verseghy of the PBSC Toronto Branch.

Nancy-Lou Patterson fonds : 2000 accrual.

This accrual continues to add to the holdings of Nancy-Lou Patterson's most recent activities, writing and design work. Of particular interest, however, is the presence of a significant amount of "juvenile" and young adult work, both written and artistic. Compositions and notebooks from public and high school, short stories, poems, scrapbooks, projects created for art courses, all demonstrate her very early interest in art and writing.
The development of an artistic style is documented in her experiments in female "superhero" comics, her cartoon rendition of Tennyson, serious drawings to accompany poems, and illustrations for text.
