Consists of an issue of the periodical, Engineering Journal, Vol. XX1, no. 2 (February, 1938), devoted to flood control measures and water flow issues in southwestern Ontario, including the Grand River Water Basin. Accompanying the periodical is an Ontario Department of Planning Development memorandum from A.E.K. Bunnell to A.H. Richardson, Conservation Branch.

Consists of a ts.(photocopy) report dated July 31, 1939 by James Mackintosh [Grand River Conservation Commission?] to Frank P. Adams, Secretary-Treasurer of the Grand River Conservation Commission. The report is in the form of a letter and details the history and development of the GRCC and assessments of the financial benefits and costs accruing to various communities in the Grand River Valley from GRCA sewage disposal, flood prevention and water supply activities.

Consists of six photographs of the Shand Dam site on the Grand River above Fergus, Ontario, during the construction phase. The following identifications are provided on verso: Shand : widening and deepening river diversion. Consists of a ts. (carbon copy) of an agreement issued by the Minister of Public Works concerning percentages and amounts of capital costs payable by the Province of Ontario to the Grand River Conservation Commission for the purchase of lands, erection of works and creation of reservoir. Includes a covering letter from R.A. McAllister, Deputy Minister of Public Works to the Grand River Conservation Commission, March 19, 1943. The agreement probably relates to the construction of the Shand Dam and Reservoir.

Consists of records relating to a conference titled Conference on River Valley Development in Southern Ontario, sponsored by the Ontario Department of Planning and Development, held in London, Ontario, October 13 and 14, 1944. Includes printed conference programme, newsclipping, ts.[drafts and final?] conference paper on Grand River conservation prepared by E.F.Roberts, Secretary-Treasurer, Grand River Conservation Commission, October 13, 1944, and ts. conference resolutions.

Also present are : an advanced proof of a publication titled, Flood Control in Southwestern Ontario, containing papers presented at the annual meetings of the Institute in London, Ont., February 2, 1938; and an article from The Star Weekly, March 18, 1939, titled, "Battling Old Man River," by R.C.Reade, concerning plans to build the Shand Dam on the Grand River.
