File consists of materials relating to the German newspaper amalgamation by Rittinger and Motz. This relates to the purchase of "The Canadischer Bauernfreund" of Waterloo, the "Canadisches Volksblatt" of New Hamburg and the "Deutsche Zeitung" or Berlin by Ritting and Motz, who already owned "Ontario Glocke" of Walkerton and the "Canadischer Kolonist" of Stratford. With these purchases, Rittinger and Motz now controlled all German Newspapers in Western Ontario. File includes notices and correspondence regarding advertising rates.
