File consists of a mortgage concerning Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the west side of Ahrens Street and Lot 2 on the north side of Weber Street of David Weber's survey in the Town of Berlin. Contains ms. annotations. File also includes three receipts for payments made on the mortgage.

Series consists of correspondence received by various individuals in the Anthes family: Martin Anthes, Carrie Anthes Breithaupt, and Leo Anthes. Includes letters, invitations, clippings, and a postcard.

File consists of 28 German letters from between 1867 and 1872. The majority of the letters were written by Reverend Jacob Anthes, from the Carrick and Port Elgin areas of Ontario, to his parents Martin and Catharina Anthes, in Baden and New Hamburg in Waterloo County. They document his young family's experience living in a new place while he preached, sometimes at long-distances, attempting to convert people to the Evangelical Association Church. Included are references to the Anthes family's health and living situation, local weather and farming conditions, and happenings related to the day to day lives of people with whom he interacted.
File also includes one unidentified letter; an agreement [?] signed by Rev. Anthes, Glenlyon, Bruce Co.; and invoices, one for Martin Anthes' account at a store in New Hamburg signed by Jacob [Niebel?].

File consists of an indenture concerning Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the west side of Ahrens Street in the Town of Berlin according to a combined plan made for Abraham C. Weber, Christian Eby, and David Weber.

Fonds consists of material collected by members of the Rieder and Anthes families. Material is mainly related to Ella Anthes' travels in Europe, the Rieder family tree, and Talmon Henry Rieder's career and plans for the Westmount area in Berlin/Waterloo. Includes souvenir guide books, postcards, and other ephemera; family trees; a letter and a plan regarding the Westmount suburb; and other material.

Most materials document the ownership history of the property consisting of Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, and in particuar Lot 3, on the south (or west) side of Ahrens Street and the north side of Weber Street in David Weber's survey in the town of Berlin (now Kitchener); this property contained the Anthes home at 44 Weber Street and the Rieder home at 58 Roy Street.

Also present are documents relating to other land in Berlin as well as land in the Township of Wilmot, the Town of Moberly, and the District of Parry Sound. Series includes mortgages, deeds and certificates of ownership, abstracts from the Registry Office (Berlin), invoices, etc.

Accrual consists of material documenting the lives, interests, and activities of members of the Rieder and Anthes families of Berlin (later Kitchener), Ontario, with a focus on Martha (Anthes) Rieder and her family. Includes correspondence, diaries, ephemera, photographs, land transactions and mortgages, agreements, clippings, ms. notes, genealogy materials, financial statements, company newsletters, membership certificates, and other personal documents.

File consists of a memorial of an indetnure of bargain and sale, by way of mortgage, concerning Lot 13 on the south side of Erb's Road in the Township of Wilmot.

File consists of sundry newspaper clippings accumulated by Martha Rieder. Includes a clipping listing examination results for Berlin Public Schools, showing Martha's promotion to second division. Other clippings relate her family (Talmon Henry Rieder, Edward Rieder, Anthes residence). Includes clippings from the Kitchener-Waterloo Record, the Pennsylvania State College Extension News, the Globe and Mail, and The Standard (Montreal).

File consists of an invoice/account balance and a receipt for payment made on the mortgage to Frederick Snyder by Jacob Hess, and an unsigned invoice for preparing a land registry abstract.

Series consists of photographs, most of which were accumulated by Martha Rieder, with some accumulated by Talmon Henry Rieder and some probably by Margaret Paisley and Paul Rieder. Photographs relate predominantly to multiple generations of the Anthes and Rieder families and include formal and informal family portraits, snapshots of family and friends, and snapshots taken while visiting cottages in the Penetanguishene area.

Other subjects include: Martha and her friends at Ontario Ladies College, business associates of Talmon, the Dominion Tire Company, the Anthes Manufacturing Company, Zion Evangelical Church events and groups, the Kitchener Natatorium, and other subjects. Many photographs from the period 1895-1906 were taken and possibly developed by Martha Rieder.

Series contains eight portraits (plus two duplicates) by Notman & Son, Montreal, all of which are in very good condition; and many portraits by James Esson of Preston. Includes loose photographs, photograph albums, and negatives.
