Four photographs and a letter to John Gartshore Martin from his niece Ann Martin. One photograph (modern copy) depicts John Alexander Martin with his sons in uniform. In the letter, Ann asks John to identify the men and woman in the other three portraits. The woman is possibly John's maternal grandmother, Margaret (Gartshore) Wilson. One man is probably John's paternal grandfather, Rev. William M. Martin, and the other is probably John's uncle Alexander Douglas Wilson.

Also includes a manuscript copy of an "extract from a petition from the Chippeaw, Ottawa and Pattawattamie Indians to Sir Francis Bond Head, Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada, dated at Sandwich U.C. the 27th February 1836."

Congratulates Harvey on being elected president of the Berlin Board of Trade: "Enter upon your duties with modesty knowing that there is much to learn and act as one putting on armour and not boasting as one taking it off after victory." He reminds Harvey of his "paramount duty to home and family and that Florence and the baby have the first claim on your time and thoughts."

Letter from Bella King (sister of W.L. Mackenzie King) dated July 17, [1904] to her friend Florence Sims, who has just given birth to her first child. After asking about the baby and Florence's health, Bella announces that "the house question" has finally been settled and that they are to move to 4 Grange Road in the middle of September, talks about holidays, and reports on going to "the Dundonald reception" with her Father John King. Leather-bound scrapbook with mementos of the Kaufman family history. Scrapbook is organized into two sections. First section is titled “Grandmother Kaufman’s favourite poems from Helen, Bill, and Jean Xmas 1935” and includes poems either received by Mary Eidt Kaufman or copied by her grandchildren Helen Mary, William Hutton, and Sally Jean in her honour (some poems are written in German). Second section is titled “Clippings & poems Jean and Alvin” and includes correspondence, ephemera, postcards, poems, newspaper clippings, and an invitation to A. R. and Jean Kaufman wedding.
