First sheets include disbound pages from a commercial baby book written and illustrated by Tony Sarg (issued by New Library Inc. for Greenberg Publishers) filled in by Young's mother with Camilla Young's first photographs and baby accomplishments. Rest of sheets include photographs from Young's childhood, teenage, and adult years. Most photographs are ordered chronologically and range in fashion styles and locations. Photographs include family and friends gatherings, school events, celebrations and parties, holiday trips, and other moments in Young's life.

Anonymous open letter created by a group of feminists from Québec outlining the outcomes from the October Crisis (Québec, October 1970) and the relationship between Québécois feminist movements and the Front de Libération du Québec (FLQ).

Letter begins by explaining the relationship between the FLQ struggle and women’s struggle. It then moves to an overview of the events that lead to the October Crisis and the invocation of the War Measures Act, while calling for an independent Québec. Later, it covers the effects of the October Crisis for the citizens of Québec in general, and for women in particular (retelling raids, questionings, jailing, and overall police activities and attitudes). It continues with an exposition on women's inequality in government and society. The letter finishes by appealing for support to the FLQ and the women’s movement.

Letter seems to have been written shortly after the invocation of the War Measures Act in October 1970, and a year after the Women’s Movement in Québec began (possibly refers to the Québec Women’s Liberation Front (FLF) created on December 1, 1969).

One photograph of the Budds Department Store annual picnic, held August 20, 1947. The photograph shows 82 people, including men, women, and children. The picnic attendees appear to include the owners and employees of the three Budds Department Store locations, as well as their families. The photograph was taken outside in an undisclosed location and the subjects appear relaxed and informal.

Photograph album compiled by Mabel E. Neiley during her time working as a nurse in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. Album reflects the life of a Canadian woman who emigrated to the United States in the early 20th Century and worked in the medical profession during the First World War and the 1918 Influenza pandemic.

Album includes photographs and postcards featuring photographs of the experiences of Mabel E. Neiley during her time as a U.S. Army nurse. Photographs capture nurses in uniform at the hospitals and barracks, nurses taking care of patients, nurses socializing with each other and with soldiers, and nursing posing in different areas of the hospital facilities. Album also contains photographs of soldiers by themselves and official visits (including one of possibly Edith and Woodrow Wilson).

According to annotations in some photographs, images were taken at Walter Reed hospital (Washinton DC, U.S.A), Camp Gordon (Georgia, U.S.A), and Columbus Barracks (Ohio, U.S.A).

The letter is regarding the capture of Peter Hansen and his servant as members of the rebellion by the Mohawk nation to be used to gather intelligence. The letter also mentions a contract for fresh meat, and that members of the village had been unwell. At this time Claus had been appointed deputy agent of the Six Nations in Canada under Frederick Haldimand.

One blank notebook with inset and tipped in items of correspondence from Frances Jeanette Clark to Margaret Hill.

Consists of a deed of bargain and sale on vellum. The deed, dated December 12, 1834, details a transaction between Vincent Dewell, and his wife Harriet, with Henry Smith regarding a plot of land in exchange for 50 pounds. The plot of land is identified as the west part of lot 29 on the 8th concession of Hope Township in Durham County, Upper Canada. Two red wax seals appear on the bottom right corner of the deed.

One volume of household accounts, 1911-1919, kept by an unidentified female, probably from the Port Elgin, Ont. area.

Consists of one print of Tintern Abbey, Monmouthshire, as seen from across the River Wye. Two men in a boat can be seen fishing on the river in the foreground. The print was published October 1784 by S. [Samuel] Hooper. The Abbey is referenced by Wordsworth in a poem and was used as inspiration for other poets and painters.

Material documenting Luella Creighton's student days at Victoria College, University of Toronto, 1924-1926. Her personal life is further documented through a series of diaries, 1963-1990. Most of the textual material in the fonds, however, relates to her career as a writer of both fiction and non-fiction, and consists of correspondence with her publishers and readers, reviews, manuscripts and typescripts of both published and unpublished works.

This collection, donated to the University of Waterloo in 1988 by the family of the late Rosa Breithaupt Hewetson Clark and Spencer Clark, includes family papers from three families, the Breithaupt family, the Hewetson family, and the Clark family; records from the Guild of All Arts in Scarborough, Ontario, founded by Rosa Breithaupt Hewetson Clark and Spencer Clark; and several smaller collections acquired by the Breithaupt family and by Spencer Clark. The personal library of Spencer Clark, which includes many books, periodicals, government documents, and ephemeral items, was donated together with the archival collections, and is particularly strong in the fields of urban planning, architecture, and Canadian art.

Two items of correspondence from Emily Bax to a Mrs. Milner Wood of Woodman's Point on the St. John's River, dated June 3, 1938 and May 16, 1939. Topics discussed include Emily Bax's book, the World's Fair, the King's speech, and her daily life and plans.

Collection consists of two items of correspondence from Lucy Stone to Mr. Michards. The letters are dated April 19th and 29th of 1893 and ask Mr. Michards to examine the records of his organization and see what arrangements Stone had made with them.

One scrapbook kept by Maria Louise Clough while on a trip from Boston to England, Scotland, France and Italy in 1886 and 1887. The scrapbook contains cards, correspondence, clippings, ephemera, and realia (including plant material), and provides insight into the activities and tastes of a young woman from that period of time. Among the contents are: Cunard ephemera (including deck plans, menus, passenger list), theatre ephemera (including Henry Irving in Faust at the Lyceum), a cigarette, lace, Westminster Abbey ephemera, transportation tickets, a moving-part Christmas card, fringe forming part of the decoration of the funeral car of the Duke of Wellington, postcards, engravings, hotel ephemera, identified leaves and flowers, etc.

One item of correspondence from Charles Gaston Smith Jr. of the Harvard Club of Boston to Eleanor Hallowell Abbott. The letter is dated July 25, 1924 and in it Smith asks Coburn if she knows of any girls in real life that are of the same quality as those in her books.

Fonds contains a record book belonging to Mary Augusta Fiske. The book contains recipes for cakes, sauces, and puddings. Also contains household accounts and several diary entries dating between 1876 and 1887. Attached to the inside of the front cover is a sepia toned photograph of an unidentified child. Next to it is a newspaper clipping regarding the death of Fiske titled "Death of Mrs. Gen. William O. Fiske".

Fonds consists of correspondence to Lester Paige Breckenridge from Anson Stokes, William H. Taft, A.T. Hadley and Hiram Bingham, dating from 1912 to 1921. Three of the letters have a Yale University header and are addressed to Breckenridge in New Haven, Connecticut.

Included, though unrelated, are two ledgers from a Berlin (Kitchener), Ontario general store for the years 1893 and 1907. Accounts listed include purchases by John King, father of William Lyon Mackenzie King, that help document the lifestyle of the King family while living at Woodside, now a National Historic Site.

Many well-known science fiction authors' first works were issued only in paperback, and this collection includes many key titles in the science fiction genre which are extremely scarce today as a result of the vulnerability of the paperback format to deterioration. The books in this collection feature many striking examples of cover art.

The Women and Work collection consists of 74 contemporary British and European imprints which focus upon women and the workplace.

Included are autobiographical accounts, which range from Dorothy C. Keeley's The Crowded Stairs: Recollections of Social Work in Liverpool 1919-1940 (London: National Council of Social Services, 1961) to Sex work: Writings by Women in the Sex Industry (London: Virago Press, 1987). Other personal accounts include: The Life and Writing of a Working Woman (London: Virago Press, 1984) by Ada Nield Chew, which describes her work in the Women's Trade Union League and the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom; and Front Line Heroines: Stories of Ten Soviet Women (Soviet War News, 1945).

Commentaries on women in the workplace are represented by such titles as Women in Industry: a Marx House Syllabus (Southampton: Lawrence and Wishart Ltd., [n. d.]); Helping Women at Work: the Women's Industrial Council, 1889-1914 (London: Hutchison, 1985); and Willing Hearts and Ready Hands: the Labours and Triumphs of Earnest Women (London: Nelson, 1883).

One handwritten letter from Robert Southey addressed to a William Webb of Dublin. The letter was sent from Keswick and is dated November 8, 1826. Also includes an etching of Southey.

Two sets of minutes from the St. Jacob's Literary and Debating Society. The minutes include lists of members, as well as debate topics and outcomes. Debate topics include work life, the railway, social services, roles of men and women, annexing Canada to the United States, and more.
