Four large albums, entitled "Pan Politae and Friends", that contain photographs, ephemera and text, both original and copies, relative to the history of the Pan Politae Club, as well as photographs and biographical information about its members from 1938 to 1995.

The history of Pan Politae is documented through current and historical portraits, as well as photographs of activities such as reunions. The albums include photographs of fundraising projects like the Christmas tree sales and service projects events held with the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) camps. Photographs depict service work done primarily in Camp Wabanaki at its original location on Beausoleil Island, Georgian Bay, which was destroyed by fire in ca. 1970.

These albums were compiled to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Kitchener-Waterloo YMCA. Included are portraits of and information about K-W YMCA Presidents, influential members, former staff, and information about awards and recipients. Also included is correspondence addressed to Lloyd Stamp from former members of the Pan Politae Club where they discuss their experiences and reflections from their time in the club.

Two millinery design portfolios created by G. Stommel and Doris Schnelder, possibly as part of a sewing course in junior college or high school. Portfolios show a comprehensive display of different fashions and styles in headcover making, including manufacturing materials, techniques, and methods.

Materials relate primarily to the professional life of John Herbert, from 1940 to 1981, such as his literary works; theatre advertising, programs, and photographs; correspondences to critics, fans, his agent, and others; and reviews on his works. The literary works include drafts of his plays as well as manuscripts of his short stories and poetry.

File consists of nineteen woodcut prints by Elizabeth Rivers. Some of the prints are signed and numbered and include captions.

Eight handbound volumes. Bernt Vik attended a textile school in Sweden, possibly in Gothenburg. He and his classmates created handbound books of their notes and handouts because affordable texts from Europe and Scandinavia were not available. The volumes consist of mimeograph handouts of text, plus pasted in diagrams and illustrations. Some of the illustrations are mimeograph handouts, some are published illustrations or photographs. Also included are hand-drawn weaving diagrams as well as textile and wool samples.

Fonds consists of materials relating to the life and career of Jerzy Pindera, with a specific focus on his time in World War II and as a prisoner of war in Sachsenhausen concentration camp during the Holocaust. Includes correspondence, articles, war records and short stories, as well as tapes of interviews conducted with Pindera.

Material relating to the organization, administration and operation of the United Way of Kitchener-Waterloo and Area from 1941-1994. Included are include correspondence, minutes and reports, financial records, publications, ephemera, scrapbooks, sound and moving image material, artifacts, and other material created or received in the course of business. The fonds includes material relating to the organization, management and results of yearly campaigns, as well as material relating to the allocation of funds to member agencies. Information about member agencies is present as well and includes their financial reports and ephemera. Publications issued by local, provincial and other social service agencies and United Ways help provide a context for understanding the larger framework within which the local organization functions.

Consists of Marion Conroy's copies of material given to delegates at the National Conference of Regional Chairmen, Consumer Branch, Wartime Prices and Trade Board held in 1944, and includes the agenda and outline of issues for the Conference, as well as a separate report submitted by Kate Aitken, Supervisor of the Conservation Programme, on the establishment and progress across Canada of "Remake Centres." These centres were for teaching women to conserve new yard goods by making over existing garments.

The fonds also contains a scrapbook kept by Marion Conroy of clippings and ephemera dating from 1941-1944. As well as documenting Marion Conroy's activities, the scrapbook contains information on the organization and personalities involved in the Board and the Consumer Branch, such Donald Gordon and Byrne Hope Sanders. Also present are news accounts of the many rules and regulations applied to all aspects of the production and consumption of consumer goods, from fashion, food and drink, and housing, to the delivery and return of purchased goods.

One scrapbook kept by Ruth Beardsley, a member of the United States Naval Reserve, known as WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service). The album includes 86 photographs showing Ruth and classmates at training at Hunter College in New York a well as Oklahoma A&M College; Ruth with family and friends; the USS Woodworth; and a trip to Washington. Also included in the scrapbook are three wartime ration books from members of the Peterson family, two postcards to Edwin Peterson, a Petty Officer training manual for John Peterson from 1950, a clipping regarding Ruth visiting the factory where her father worked, an invitation to a party on the USS Kearsarge (CV-33) issued only to women, an Easter card, a certificate for Beardsley from the Maryland College of Engineering in Engineering Drawing, and a transcript of a broadcast given on CBS by Eric Sevareid on the day of the truce in the Korean War. The scrapbook itself features a drawing of WAVES on the cover.

Studio, home portraits and candid photography of families and weddings, as well as commercial jobs for many local industries and businesses document comprehensively the growth and changes in the way of life in the Waterloo Region in the post-war era. Many nationally important companies employed Nicol, some as their "house photographer": these include B.F. Goodrich, Budd Automotive, Mutual Life Insurance Co., Bell Telephone, Electrohome, Raytheon, IBM, and Greb Shoes. Many types of businesses are represented: storefronts and interiors of banks, clothing, department, music, furniture and grocery stores, dairies, factories, restaurants, hotels and motels, churches, service stations, car dealerships, service industries, construction trades, and more.

Margaret Schreiter was "Camp Mother" at Camp Tinawatawa on Paradise Lake near Waterloo, Ontario between 1952 and 1959. The materials contained in this fonds include reports, the texts of presentations given by Margaret Schreiter, the outline of a discussion at a camp counsellors meeting led by Margaret Schreiter, correspondence, an ms. list, and a camp newspaper. These items help document Y.W.C.A. camping activities at the time.

The letter describes the history of the Spanish River Lumber Company that operated near the Sauble River, between 1882 and the 1940's, focusing on the 20th century history of the company. Account makes reference to the Spanish River Indian Reserve, Wahnapitae, Ontario, the Great Lakes Storm of 1913 and the Mississauga Timber Reserve. Also included is a business card dated July 14, 1958, for Noranda Mines Limited located in Toronto, Ontario with a handwritten note that reads: Thought this might interest you. Included here are correspondence, memos, briefs, speeches and clippings which document the change in focus of the group from its early years--a change which ultimately resulted in Davis' resignation (January 22, 1963). Included on many folders or individual pieces of correspondence are Davis' notes, done in 1990, which reveal a unique perspective of early events.

Fonds consists of materials created and accumulated by Rienzi Crusz documenting his personal and professional life. Includes manuscript materials, correspondence, materials relating to his published works, etc.

Accrual consists of material relating to the history, organization and operation of Waterloo Foundation for the Advancement of Computing, Inc. from its foundation in 1974 to 1998. A large portion of the files deal with individual fellowships funded by WATFAC. Includes correspondence, reports, legal documents, financial information, electronic records (computer disks) and photographs.

A gold blazer from the University of Waterloo purchased and worn by Peter (Otis) Dallas, an undergraduate student in the second kinesiology class of 1972. The jacket includes a patch with the University of Waterloo name and the logo for the School of Physical Education and Recreation on the chest pocket. The order for the student blazers was placed by Dr. Robert (Bob) Norman and Neil Widmeyer, both faculty members in the School of Physical Education and Recreation at the time. Peter Dallas wore the blazer at every alumni reunion and recently celebrated his fiftieth-year anniversary in 2022.

The records of K-W Oktoberfest document all aspects of the growth and day-to-day operation of the festival from its beginnings in 1969. They consist of incoming and outgoing correspondence, committee minutes and reports, publications, ephemera, audio-visual materials, and other material created or received by the Corporation in the course of its business. Records from 1969-1983 are incomplete.

Materials created or accumulated by Lydia Dotto during her professional life. Includes published and draft articles and reports written by and about Dotto in different media; reviews of Dotto's books; research materials and interviews; video documentaries in which Dotto participated, collaborated, or accumulated for research purposes; drafts of speeches; awards and certificates received by Dotto throughout her career as a science and environmental journalist and writer; and related photographs and correspondence received by Dotto.

Consists of material documenting Nancy-Lou Patterson's time at the University of Waterloo.

Accrual consists primarily of handwritten and typed poetry and prose, some of which are already listed in the finding aid and accrual lists. Also includes correspondence, personal files and biographical information.

Letter written by Tyrone Guthrie to Marvin Brown, Associate Dean of Arts at the University of Waterloo. The letter is dated May 10, 1970, and discusses Guthrie's availability and services.

Anonymous open letter created by a group of feminists from Québec outlining the outcomes from the October Crisis (Québec, October 1970) and the relationship between Québécois feminist movements and the Front de Libération du Québec (FLQ).

Letter begins by explaining the relationship between the FLQ struggle and women’s struggle. It then moves to an overview of the events that lead to the October Crisis and the invocation of the War Measures Act, while calling for an independent Québec. Later, it covers the effects of the October Crisis for the citizens of Québec in general, and for women in particular (retelling raids, questionings, jailing, and overall police activities and attitudes). It continues with an exposition on women's inequality in government and society. The letter finishes by appealing for support to the FLQ and the women’s movement.

Letter seems to have been written shortly after the invocation of the War Measures Act in October 1970, and a year after the Women’s Movement in Québec began (possibly refers to the Québec Women’s Liberation Front (FLF) created on December 1, 1969).

Collection consists of 82 plans of gravel pits in Ontario. The plans have been collected by Wayne Caston, and he was involved in consulting in many of the projects. The records in this finding aid consist of information taken from an Excel spreadsheet created by Caston with details on each of the plans. A printout of the spreadsheet is also present in the collection. Plans are listed in the order originally provided by the donor on the spreadsheet.

Accrual is comprised of materials by and about Alice Munro that were collected by Walter Martin and Warren Ober for their research. Includes articles, critiques, short stories and one sound recording.

The fonds consists of materials documenting Eric McCormack's career as a writer. It contains manuscripts, typescripts, clippings, ephemera, and correspondence.

The fonds consists of a single diary kept by Jane Urquhart from 1974 to 1981, before she began her writing career, and documents primarily several trips to Europe taken with Tony Urquhart. This diary served as a sketchbook, journal and trip diary, and contains drawings and sketches, photographs, ephemera, plant material, etc. Its 258 pages contain 71 sketches, drawings and watercolours including 27 by Tony Urquhart, 32 by Jane Urquhart, 2 by Michael Ondaatje and 10 by other artists.

Fonds consists of one painting by Peter Etril Snyder of the Dana Porter Library. The work was commissioned in 1975 for the home of the then President of the University, Burt Matthews.
