Fonds consists of textual and visual materials created and received by Dorney over the course of his career, including drafts and reprints of most of his published writings, teaching and course materials, audio-visual materials, framed items, ephemera and realia. Of interest is an original map by Dorney which attempts to reconstruct the original vegetation patterns in North Dumfries Township in Waterloo County in the 19th century. Dorney's collection of slides is particularly significant in its documentation of natural vegetation, urban impact and areas of ecological interest both locally and elsewhere and includes extensive documentation of the "mini-forest" at his home at 124 Amos Ave. in Waterloo.

Collection includes a black leather jacket from the University of Waterloo likely purchased and worn by an undergraduate student in the kinesiology and co-op programs. In addition, the collection contains a light teal coloured t-shirt from the University of Waterloo likely given to and worn by a first-year undergraduate student during orientation week in September 1992.

Fonds consists of materials created and accumulated by the George Pattinson Woollen mill and its predecessors. Includes primarily financial and account information for the mill, including journals, account books, and a ledger. Also includes photographs and ephemera.

Material relating to administration and operation of the K-W YWCA, its programs and services, consisting of the files kept by Marilyn Dippell through her term as President. Includes correspondence, ephemera, memoranda, minutes of meetings, ms. notes and document drafts, etc.

Four large albums, entitled "Pan Politae and Friends", that contain photographs, ephemera and text, both original and copies, relative to the history of the Pan Politae Club, as well as photographs and biographical information about its members from 1938 to 1995.

The history of Pan Politae is documented through current and historical portraits, as well as photographs of activities such as reunions. The albums include photographs of fundraising projects like the Christmas tree sales and service projects events held with the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) camps. Photographs depict service work done primarily in Camp Wabanaki at its original location on Beausoleil Island, Georgian Bay, which was destroyed by fire in ca. 1970.

These albums were compiled to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Kitchener-Waterloo YMCA. Included are portraits of and information about K-W YMCA Presidents, influential members, former staff, and information about awards and recipients. Also included is correspondence addressed to Lloyd Stamp from former members of the Pan Politae Club where they discuss their experiences and reflections from their time in the club.

Contains materials by and about Mary Quayle Innis. Includes correspondence written mostly to her daughter, Anne Innis Dagg from 1956 to 1968, notes kept while Dean of Women at University College, 1954-1961. Also present are files compiled by Anne Innis Dagg, including a biographical essay on Mary Quayle Innis and files relating to a proposed collection of her short stories and pieces with an introduction by Anne Innis Dagg.

Fonds is divided into two series, the Muskoka Lakes Association series and the Canadian Coalition on Acid Rain series. Fonds contains correspondence, agendas, minutes, financial reports, budgets, Muskoka Lakes Association Newsletters, Muskoka Lakes Association Yearbooks, reports, notes, advertisements, newspaper clippings, and photographs.

Fonds consists of negatives and proof prints taken by Robert T.G. Nicol under the name of Personal Studio between 1946 and 1996. Studio, home portraits and candid photography of families and weddings, as well as commercial jobs for many local industries and businesses document comprehensively the growth and changes in the way of life in the Waterloo Region in the post-war era. Many nationally important companies employed Nicol, some as their "house photographer": these include B.F. Goodrich, Budd Automotive, Mutual Life Insurance Co., Bell Telephone, Electrohome, Raytheon, IBM, and Greb Shoes. Many types of businesses are represented: storefronts and interiors of banks, clothing, department, music, furniture and grocery stores, dairies, factories, restaurants, hotels and motels, churches, service stations, car dealerships, service industries, construction trades, and more.

Materials created and accumulated by Barbara Smucker relating to her professional activities. Primarily includes materials relating to her various published works including research, reviews, and manuscripts and typescripts.

The records of K-W Oktoberfest document all aspects of the growth and day-to-day operation of the festival from its beginnings in 1969. They consist of incoming and outgoing correspondence, committee minutes and reports, publications, ephemera, audio-visual materials, and other material created or received by the Corporation in the course of its business. Records from 1969-1983 are incomplete.

Records related to E Palmer Patterson’s research and writings, both published and unpublished, primarily about Indigenous peoples in Canada. Includes manuscripts, typescripts, offprints, notes, press clippings, correspondence, publishing contracts and other material.

Collection consists of a handwritten recipe book kept by members of the Charette family, primarily Helen Charette and Ann Lauzon. The book also includes pasted and set in recipes taken from magazines and newspapers. Many of the recipes are indicated as being from other women, and names include Mrs. Baker, Bertha, Mrs. McDonald, Mrs. McCollough, Mrs. Duchene, Mémé Langlois, Mrs. McKee, Mrs. Laramie, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. McClelland. All of the recipes are for food, excepting one which is a remedy for rheumatism. The Five Roses Cook Book is also included. The collection also includes personal passports of Ann Lauzon and Helen Lauzon.

Two scrapbooks, the first compiled by Damaris Smith containing clippings, engravings, stamps and seals, obituaries and biographies of prominent suffragists, literary, political and social women, some British. The second, compiled by her daughter Gertrude, contains an article written by Damaris Smith entitled "Pioneer Wife". As well, it documents the history of the Smith family and contains photographs and a pencil sketch of the "Mountain Hall" homestead.

Fonds consists of materials relating to the life and career of Jerzy Pindera, with a specific focus on his time in World War II and as a prisoner of war in Sachsenhausen concentration camp during the Holocaust. Includes correspondence, articles, war records and short stories, as well as tapes of interviews conducted with Pindera.

This collection, donated to the University of Waterloo in 1988 by the family of the late Rosa Breithaupt Hewetson Clark and Spencer Clark, includes family papers from three families, the Breithaupt family, the Hewetson family, and the Clark family; records from the Guild of All Arts in Scarborough, Ontario, founded by Rosa Breithaupt Hewetson Clark and Spencer Clark; and several smaller collections acquired by the Breithaupt family and by Spencer Clark. The personal library of Spencer Clark, which includes many books, periodicals, government documents, and ephemeral items, was donated together with the archival collections, and is particularly strong in the fields of urban planning, architecture, and Canadian art.

More than 2 million negatives taken between 1938 and 2001 by staff photographers at the Kitchener-Waterloo Record (KWR) and its predecessors. Providing a historical look at the Region of Waterloo, the Collection includes documentary photographs of local news events, community activities, regional development, human-interest stories, businesses, schools, and sports teams. Portraits of business and community leaders, as well as commissioned photos taken for advertising purposes, are part of the Collection. It also includes scrapbooks containing clippings and pictures that appeared in the paper from 1971 to 1995.

A significant portion of the fonds relates to the businesses he formed outside of his professional career, the Westmount Construction Company and Westmont Enterprises Limited, for the period from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. These records document trends in suburban home-building and design during that time and include a large number of architectural drawings.

The fonds is not comprehensive, lacking documentation relating to the formation and administration of the Westmount Construction Company and Westmont Enterprises Limited and containing only a small amount of material relating the other area of his entrepreneurial activities, investment and financial services.

Records created and accumulated by the Librarians' and Archivists’ Association of the University of Waterloo (LAAUW) related to the association’s meetings, programs, and activities. Records in this fonds document the work of the Executive Committee, the association’s attempts to obtain faculty representation and academic status for members, the evolution of the Librarian and Archivist Employment Handbook, and various subjects of special interest to the association, librarians and archivists.

Fonds consists of materials relating to the professional and private life of John Panabaker. Includes diaries spanning over fifty years, artwork and doodles, speeches, genealogical information, as well as materials created and accumulated while he was a student and during the course of his professional career.

The B.P. Nichol Library of Science Fiction, acquired in 1990, consists of more than 500 science fiction titles from the private library of the late Canadian writer, B.P. Nichol (commonly referred to as bpNichol).

Many well-known science fiction authors' first works were issued only in paperback, and this collection includes many key titles in the science fiction genre which are extremely scarce today as a result of the vulnerability of the paperback format to deterioration. The books in this collection feature many striking examples of cover art.

Fonds consists of materials created and accumulated by the Glow Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity. Includes records created by the centre, promotional items, and materials relating to events and activities supported by Glow.

Collected by Gustav Seide, this collection includes primarily works by 19th century German mystic Jakob Lorber and his circle such as Gottfried Mayerhofer. Also included are works by other mystics including Emanuel Swedenborg and religious texts including the Bhagavad Gita. Of particular note is a complete set of Lorber’s seminal work “Das große Evangelium Johannis” of the Great Gospel of John.

Collection consists of 82 plans of gravel pits in Ontario. The plans have been collected by Wayne Caston, and he was involved in consulting in many of the projects. The records in this finding aid consist of information taken from an Excel spreadsheet created by Caston with details on each of the plans. A printout of the spreadsheet is also present in the collection. Plans are listed in the order originally provided by the donor on the spreadsheet.

Most notably, the fonds documents Telegdi’s extensive political career as a City and Regional Councillor as well as a Member of Parliament. Includes records related to Cameron’s military training, uniform and personal gear, and service overseas. The Forbes family fonds contains records related to the Forbes, Buck, Land, Wilson, and Kaufman families, predominately created, and accumulated by Betty Forbes. The material primarily documents the personal lives of Millicent Lyall Forbes, George Alexander Forbes and their twin daughters Betty Forbes and Peg Forbes in Hespeler (now Cambridge), Ontario. This includes items related to their education, careers, and recreational activities such as camping. In addition, the fonds contains material related to extended family members and friends. Records include correspondence, scrapbooks, photographs and photograph albums, press clippings, ephemera, diaries, and notebooks.

The fonds contains materials relating to the history, products, employees, equipment and manufacturing processes of the Rubber Machinery Shops of the Dominion Tire Co. Ltd, and its parent companies from ca. 1914 to ca. 2004.

Includes over 1600 photographs of staff at work, receiving awards and at leisure; manufacturing processes and machines; products made by RMS for used in their parent companies and for contracts; interior, exterior and aerial views of Dominion Rubber facilities across Canada; and photographs taken for publication in RMS and parent company newsletters as well as local media.

Also included is information on company history, including newspaper clippings, press releases, leaflets and in-house publications; sales and marketing materials including advertisement proofs, brochures, leaflets, and major equipment listings; company publicity materials including parent company publications, and company portfolios; and RMS created office files including salary and company organizational charts, and industrial relations materials.

Special Collections & Archives holds a variety of town guides from cities across the UK. Most significant urban centres in the British Isles are represented, and there is a comprehensive collection of guides to places which became Greater London in 1965.

The guides can provide a benchmark for assessing the very substantial changes which have affected British urban places in the past 60 years, and may be of interest to researchers in a variety of disciplines.

The town guides vary in size from a slender brochure of 30 pages for a small Urban District to large-format volumes of over 300 pages for a major City and County Borough such as Liverpool.

The William Blake Collection consists of more than 200 titles of which the majority are facsimiles of Blake's works or privately-printed reprints and editions containing facsimiles of the illustrations. The collection also forms part of a larger collection devoted to joint painter-illustrator-author books that include followers of Blake, e.g. Palmer & Calvert, William Morris, Eric Gill, and David Jones.

One of the highlights of the William Blake Collection is the 1951 Trianon Press edition of William Blake's Jerusalem.

Materials created or published by Canadian Liberal organizations and ministers during the World Wars and between. Includes materials created during opposition governments and Liberal governments, especially those with Prime Minister Hon. William Lyon Mackenzie King. Most materials directly relate to the Hon. W. L. Mackenzie King, including speeches, addresses, and different public and private events. Also includes materials created by the Hon. James Horace King, M.P., and the Hon. James Joseph McCann, M.P.

Two photographs on one sheet from the Sheriff's Department Los Angeles showing the booking photographs of Rose Pena Ventura. Ventura is seen in full length profile and straight on. The verso of the photograph indicates it was taken September 22, 1955 when Ventura was 32. Her aliases are listed as Rose Pena and Rose Garduna and she was arrested for the crime of abortion.

Three letters written by Marion Webster during her time as a missionary in Angola for the Evangelical Congregational Church in Angola. Her letters detail the history and geography of Angola, as well as activities undertaken by her. Also includes 5 envelopes from Marion Webster that do not correspondence with the letters.

This collection is made up of 25 first or early editions of the 35 titles by Virginia Woolf as well as 62 titles printed by the Hogarth Press. 47 of the Hogarth Press items date from the 1917-1938 period during which Virginia Woolf was associated with the Press.

Highlights of the collection include a first edition of Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own, and its sequel, Three Guineas, and first editions of her last two novels.

This is a representative collection that contains one example from each of most of the different series (for example, the Day to Day series, Hogarth Letters, Hogarth Essays), and examples of very early printings of some 20th century writers, such as Robert Graves, Edith Sitwell, and Gertrude Stein.
