These materials are relevant to the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

Many publications of the British Columbia Heritage Trust are contained in this file. This includes the Technical Paper Series which focuses on specialized heritage subjects within a British Columbian context. Some annual reports of the British Columbia Heritage Trust are also contained in this file. Some b&w photographs received by Dendy from the Dept.of National Defence are also contained in this file. However, the subject of these photographs is not described. Finally, this file contains some postcards depicting historic sites and buildings in Nova Scotia and murals in British Columbia.

Programs on Toronto Architecture for CBLT MORNING, Toronto.

These videocassettes include programs re the architectural history of Toronto shown on CBLT MORNING. Dendy was a regular contributor in the fields of architecture and architechtural history for CBLT MORNING between 1985-1986.

The first program (ca. 10 mins. in duration) is entitled "Lost Horizons" and focuses on the history of the development of high rise buildings in Toronto especially commercial architecture. Dendy provides extensive commentary during this program.

The second item (about 5-10 minutes in duration) forms part of a program re Wytchwood Park which also includes commentary by Dendy re the architectural history of this neighbourhood.

These two pieces of film footage are repeated multiple times on each of these two videocassettes.

Materials in this file relate primarily to Toronto's architectural history. Many items relate to government and public buildings or to bank architecture in Toronto, while some relate to other types of buildings or to regions of Toronto. Materials include news clippings, photocopies of journal articles and of extracts from books and other publications, ms. notes, reports, and some correspondence addressed to Dendy. Also included in this file are some reviews of the book Dendy co-published with William Kilbourn entitled Toronto Observed: Its Architecture, Patrons, and History.

This series includes two videocassettes (copy 1 and copy 2). Each videocassette show the same film footage.They both include programs re the architectural history of Toronto shown on CBLT MORNING. Includes many ms. and ts. (original and computer output) notes by Dendy prepared for the purposes of Toronto Walking Tours which were given by him. Each set of notes relates to a different area of Toronto. Other items include Toronto walking tour guides produced by the North Toronto Historical Society, the Central Y.M.C.A., Toronto, and other bodies. Photocopies from books and clippings re certain areas of Toronto are also contained in this file. Additionally this file includes maps of many different areas of Toronto, as well as many brochures and leaflets relating primarily to walking tours of different areas of Toronto.

Fulford Contained in Fulford Place, Brockville". The original document dates from Dec. 11, 1911. This file also includes photographs of the exterior and interior of Fulford Place.

All of these materials cover the Toronto area and take the form of either originals or photocopies. This includes photocopies of journal articles from Western Homes & Living (issues date from 1950's) and photocopies from books and other publications many of which were received from the Provincial Archives in British Columbia. These materials relate to domestic architecture (both exterior and interior home designs) in West Coast Canada.

This file also includes photocopies of correspondence (dating from the 1950's) of the National Industrial Design Council re Perpetua Furniture Ltd. Also includes photocopies of sketches of furniture and other documentation.

This file also contains some photocopies from books relating to Italian architecture including the Palazzo del Te and Jacopo Strada's Mantuan Drawings.

Includes ms. holograph research notes on Hamilton's architecture. Additionally contains photocopies of photographs of many buildings in Hamilton from Public Archives Canada, as well as photocopies of the index cards for these photographs. Photocopies from the book Up and Down Hamilton by T. M. Bailey and C.A. Carter are also included in this file. File dividers are used to divide these materials in to separate sections according to the topic to which they relate. Many of the notes are taken from the Hamilton Times and the Hamilton Weekly Spectator and relate to tender calls in the 1840s, 1850s,1860s, and 1870s.

Includes research papers by Dendy and others re various architectural themes. One research paper by Stephen Otto relates to the architect F. J. Rastrick. Another photocopied draft ts. by Jim Lemon and Stephen Speisman is entitled "The Building of a Suburb" and relates to the history of Toronto architecture, while a second draft ts. (original) by Dendy is entitled "Temples of Commerce: From the First Canadian Bank to the Second World War". Both of these ts. drafts appear to constitute research conducted to constitute part of a book or books on architecture. Other items included in this file include ms. holograph notes and photocopies of articles relating to bank building, Frederick Rastrick, city planning in Toronto and other matters.
