Consists of ts.report by H.G. Acres, Hydraulic and Hydro-Electric Engineer, Niagara Falls, Ont. dated February 8, 1940 for the Grand River Conservation Commission concerning preliminary study and exploratory work on the proposed Luther-Shand water control structure on the upper Grand River. The report summarizes investigatory work performed in 1938-1939.

Includes a covering letter by O. Holden, Chief Hydraulic Engineer, Hydro-Electric Power Commission of Ontario, Engineering Department.

Also includes a ts.(photoreproduction) report by the Hydro-Electric Power Commission of Ontario, Engineering Department, showing yearly minimum flow levels measured at various points on the Grand River, 1914-1936. The report is accompanied by a covering letter by O. Holden dated August 13, 1938.

Also present is a letter from the Ontario Department of Lands and Forests Surveys Branch to the Grand River Conservation Commission, dated February 23, 1939 concerning cost allotment by municipality for improvements to the Grand River.

Consists of a DVD transfer of a videocassette of 8 mm film footage of the construction of the Shand Dam, near Belwood, Ont. The footage was probably taken by Hugh Templin, GRCA commissioner and editor of the Fergus News Record.
