Two Nazi propaganda albums with tipped in maps, portraits and images. Also included in each album are 100 stereoscope photographs and a stereoscope viewer showing Nazi activities during the Second World War.

Four large albums, entitled "Pan Politae and Friends", that contain photographs, ephemera and text, both original and copies, relative to the history of the Pan Politae Club, as well as photographs and biographical information about its members from 1938 to 1995.

The history of Pan Politae is documented through current and historical portraits, as well as photographs of activities such as reunions. The albums include photographs of fundraising projects like the Christmas tree sales and service projects events held with the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) camps. Photographs depict service work done primarily in Camp Wabanaki at its original location on Beausoleil Island, Georgian Bay, which was destroyed by fire in ca. 1970.

These albums were compiled to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Kitchener-Waterloo YMCA. Included are portraits of and information about K-W YMCA Presidents, influential members, former staff, and information about awards and recipients. Also included is correspondence addressed to Lloyd Stamp from former members of the Pan Politae Club where they discuss their experiences and reflections from their time in the club.

Fonds consists of materials created and accumulated by John Ivan Rempel that document his professional life and activities in architecture and architectural heritage, primarily relating to his work "Building with wood." Includes materials relating to his activities; manuscripts and research materials; and photographs of wood construction.

Fonds consists of material relating to the career of H.N.B.Hynes, from his work as a student at the Univeristy of London in the late 1930s through his time as a professor of biology at the University of Waterloo until his retirement in the 1980s. More than 2 million negatives taken between 1938 and 2001 by staff photographers at the Kitchener-Waterloo Record (KWR) and its predecessors. Providing a historical look at the Region of Waterloo, the Collection includes documentary photographs of local news events, community activities, regional development, human-interest stories, businesses, schools, and sports teams. Portraits of business and community leaders, as well as commissioned photos taken for advertising purposes, are part of the Collection. It also includes scrapbooks containing clippings and pictures that appeared in the paper from 1971 to 1995.

Materials created and accumulated by Bernard Suits over the course of his education and teaching career. Includes materials created as a student such as class notes and exams, materials created as a professor at the University of Waterloo including course outlines and exams, published and unpublished fiction and non-fiction works, correspondence, meeting minutes, and audio and visual recordings of Suits' lectures.

Contains one letter dated January 21, 1963 and addressed to "My Dear Jean" from Dion Calthrop Clayton regarding his book. Underneath the body of the letter is a drawing in black ink of a person blowing on a trumpet. There is also a separate, folded leaflet included with the letter titled, "In Memoriam 1881-1937". Inside the leaflet is a black and white profile shot of Calthrop.

Some lectures and a press clipping featuring a letter to the editor against capital punishment written by Thomas Lacey are contained within a scrapbook. Lectures range from various topics including life and death, peace, Gandhi, and spiritualism.

Materials relating to the history, administration, and organization of the Schneider Employees' Association of Schneider Foods. Includes collective agreements, information on benefit packages, organization and administrative records, photographs and artefacts, as well as collective agreements from other organizations.

One autograph album signed by former members of the Poets Club on the occasion of club's twenty-fifth anniversary. The book is full Morocco leather with raised spine bands.

Collection consists of a recipe binder of recipes collected from newspapers, accumulated by an unknown person. Recipes were collected from the Toronto Star, the Guelph Daily Mercury, The Guelph Shopper, and others. Many of the recipes from the Toronto Star are from Jean Brodie. Also includes a candy recipe card from the Guelph city gas department. The binder that the recipes were stored in is a directory of Guelph businesses, ca. 1960s.

One item of correspondence from Lincoln Steffens to Mr. [Humphries?]. The letter is dated April 1, 1932 and discusses where articles by Steffens were published.

Collection consists of F.W. Wegenast's material relating to the trial of Dorothea Palmer. It contains correspondence, manuscripts, typescripts of court examinations, arguments used in court, research materials, documents, printed and published items, and clippings relating to the case Rex vs. Palmer.

Consists of four items of McNeill's correspondence and some typed notes on Canadian poet William Wilfred Campbell.

Fonds consists primarily of records relating to the operation and activities of the Grand River Conservation Commission from 1938 to 1966, mostly records maintained by successive secretary-treasurers, but including some chairman's files (William Philip), and operations files. Includes a wide range of documentation, including correspondence, financial records, minutes, personnel records, reports, maps and plans and environmental monitoring records. Documentation includes construction of the Shand and Conestogo Dams, property acquisition and management, relations and interactions with municipalities and government departments at the provincial and federal levels, flood management and monitoring, implementation and management of health care, unemployment insurance, provincial and federal taxes, rental and leasing of cottage lots and other properties, reforestation and nursery operations, management of motor vehicles and other equipment.

Three items of correspondence addressed to George Charles Williamson. The first is from Charles Walter Berry (of Berry Bros. & Rudd Wine and Spirit Merchants) and discusses Charles sending a bottle of Tokay for Williamson's wife and the fact that Charles read Williamson's article "Behind my Library Door" in the Spectator. The second and third are from the same unknown correspondent and mentions an article on wine and Monastic cellars.

Fonds consists of ephemera relating to the unionization of furniture makers and woodworkers in the Kitchener, Stratford, and Woodstock area. Includes a mock liberty bond for the defence of workers arrested protesting, a card promoting socialist industrial unionism, a handbill outlining union desires, a letter from Canada Furniture Manufacturers regarding an adjustment to pay rates, a handbill encouraging furniture workers to unionize, and a photocopy of a letter to Herman Kreuger.

Fonds consists of materials created and accumulated by Claire Wallace. Includes scrapbooks which contain radio scripts, correspondence, clippings and other material relating to her career as a broadcaster and also to her travel bureau.

A collection of 23 prospectus, mail order catalogues, and subscription requests for erotic books. The prospectus are couched in the terms of literature, anthropology and sexology in attempts to disguise the erotic nature of the works.

Material accumulated by the Survival Research Institute of Canada that is related to William Herman Cartheuser, an American Spiritualist medium. Includes records related to his work as a medium such as business cards and class announcements. Also includes material related to his personal life including photographs, a marriage certificate, a ration card, and other ephemera.

One possibly satirical consent card, stating that the woman who fills the card in is giving her permission to engage in sexual acts with the man who has given her the card. It also grants the man indemnity under the Mann Act.

Fonds consists of two typescript leaves with directions for the tanning process used by the Lang Tanning Company for their contract with the RCAF.

Photograph album containing photographs and other materials related to the Zagar family with an emphasis on their youngest daughter Margaret Ann.

Photographs and ephemera in album cover the lives of the Zagar family from the early 1930s to the early 1950s. First sheets include photographs of the grandmothers, parents (Stephan and Wilma), twin oldest daughters (Rosalyn and Marilyn Ann), and youngest daughter as a baby (Margaret Ann). Rest of sheets focus on Margaret Ann and her development from early childhood to adulthood after having gotten infected with Poliomyelitis as an infant. Photographs include family pictures and celebrations, class photographs at the Gompers School for the Handicapped (located at South State St. and 123rd, Chicago), photographs of Margaret Ann's development at different stages, and photographs of family friends. Album also contains religious ephemera, school ephemera related to Gompers School events, and a newspaper clipping related to a function at Gompers School.

Typescript play written by Royde-Smith titled "Mafro: A Comedy in Three Acts." The play is dated March 1929 and was apparently unpublished. An inscription on the cover page reads "To W. Graham Robertson from Naomi Royde-Smith."

Collection consists primarily of negatives taken by Charles Belair during the course of his professional career as a photographer. The images include those of local families, events and buildings in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. The collection includes some 21, 000 negatives as well as in some cases accompanying prints, transparencies, and contact sheets.

Includes materials from Kaufman Rubber, as well as local and national history materials accumulated by Good. Fonds contains time books, ephemera, clippings, catalogues, rubber information and strike materials from Kaufman Rubber as well as materials relating to World War Two, Kitchener history and Canadian politics.

Includes a manuscript notebook that records the details of séances held by a group of individuals in Weston-super-Mare, England between April 16, 1924 and February 27, 1925. Also includes a handwritten poem and a photograph.

Consists of one group photograph of a construction crew, purportedly for Bridgeport School. They are posed with a sign: "John V. Gray Construction Co. Ltd, General Contractors, head office Toronto ...."

One item of correspondence from Charles Gaston Smith Jr. of the Harvard Club of Boston to Eleanor Hallowell Abbott. The letter is dated July 25, 1924 and in it Smith asks Coburn if she knows of any girls in real life that are of the same quality as those in her books.

One unfolded and uncut printing of Fireside Conversations in the Time of Queen Elizabeth, or '1601' a fragment by Mark Twain. This was privately printed in 1920.

Material documenting John Walter’s term as President of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (C.C.F.) Party’s Kitchener branch during 1930 to 1937. Included is correspondence concerning William Daum Euler, leaflets regarding an election campaign and anti-war messages, as well as various reference materials.

One proposed plan for a home and 1/4 acre vegetable garden called Kitchener Park, designed by Landscape Architect John H. Melady.

Broadside condemning Elizabeth Cady Stanton's "The Woman's Bible" and the fight for women's suffrage. Published in 1895, Woman's Bible discusses Stanton's views that Christianity and masculine theology were some of the leading factors in keeping women from gaining rights. Although highly criticized both before and during its publication, Woman's Bible was a bestseller and was reprinted twice in the year after its publication. The broadside here was printed approximately 25 years after the publication of Woman's Bible, likely during the time that the debate on the ratification of the 19th amendment to the US Constitution was underway.

The broadside excerpts passages from Stanton's work in an attempt to prove that fears around women's suffrage leaders are founded. The unknown author also implicates suffrage leaders Carrie Chapman Catt and Alice Stone Blackwell, even though neither had a hand in the publication of The Woman's Bible.

Materials published by Stark Brothers Nurseries for the purposes of advertising and selling their fruit trees, particularly apple trees.

Fonds consists of one 141 page carbon typescript of "Among the beavers: Canadians and others" by Gladys Lillian King. The work is a personal narrative of the work done by the Military Women Police in and around the Beaver Hut in the Strand, London. Also includes two photographs of King with others.

One holograph letter, written from the trenches in France during the First World War. Ross Hamilton is sending Miss Henstridge a book he has found in a ruined house, and is asking for news of his old school, Kitchener Collegiate Institute.

A compilation of personal correspondence consisting mostly of letters exchanged between members of the Sommer family, and occasionally their friends, in Canada or Germany. These letters are interspersed with details of family life and contain observations about the Sommer family’s immigration to Canada, educational pursuits, health and well-being, relationships, finances, businesses and careers, and more. Additionally, these letters contain commentary on contemporary social and political events including the aftermath of World War II, Quebec separatism, and German politics during the 1970s and 1980s. The fonds also incudes photographs, greeting cards, postcards, pamphlets and related ephemera likely exchanged alongside the letters between family members and friends.

Original accession includes over 115 Heitmatbücher (German for "home books") that document the stories and histories of the villages that were inhabited by the Danube Swabians (German: Donauschwaben) in Central Europe: Romania, Hungary, and the former Yugoslavia. Many of these books also contain genealogies, some dating back to the 18th century. The Heimatbücher are a unique and rich resource for anyone interested in the history and migration of the Donauschwaben people.

An addition to the Henry Fischer Schwaben Heimatbuch Collection contains 13 items documenting the history and genealogy of Donauschwaben people living in southeastern Europe. Many of the titles are rare, having been created by and for the communities and published in only small print runs.

A genealogist, Mr. Fischer has devoted much of his life to documenting the history of his people and to collecting these Heitmatbücher.

File consists of one panoramic photograph of the Western Ontario Regiment doing training at Carling Heights in London, Ontario.

Photograph album compiled by Mabel E. Neiley during her time working as a nurse in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. Album reflects the life of a Canadian woman who emigrated to the United States in the early 20th Century and worked in the medical profession during the First World War and the 1918 Influenza pandemic.

Album includes photographs and postcards featuring photographs of the experiences of Mabel E. Neiley during her time as a U.S. Army nurse. Photographs capture nurses in uniform at the hospitals and barracks, nurses taking care of patients, nurses socializing with each other and with soldiers, and nursing posing in different areas of the hospital facilities. Album also contains photographs of soldiers by themselves and official visits (including one of possibly Edith and Woodrow Wilson).

According to annotations in some photographs, images were taken at Walter Reed hospital (Washinton DC, U.S.A), Camp Gordon (Georgia, U.S.A), and Columbus Barracks (Ohio, U.S.A).

Fonds documents various memorial exhibits on display after the passing of Homer Ransford Watson, and the administration of Watson's estate by Ross Hamilton. Fonds predominately consists of correspondence addressed to Ross Hamilton regarding the management or purchase of Watson's paintings. Other textual records include pamphlets, leaflets, and two scrapbooks of clippings about memorial exhibitions about his works and life. Typescripts in the fonds cover speeches and tributes to Watson during memorial exhibitions, as well as a biography of him written by Ross Hamilton.

Includes materials created during opposition governments and Liberal governments, especially those with Prime Minister Hon. William Lyon Mackenzie King. Most materials directly relate to the Hon. W. This file consists of photocopies made for K.M. McLaughlin by the National Archives of Canada and consists of documents pertaining to the Acadian Club raid and the attempt to gain restitution from the government. The file contains copies of letters by N.A. Zick, President of the Acadian Club, W.G. Weichel, M.P., Sir Sam Hughes, Minister of Militia and Defence, and others, as well as a memorandum of damage done and recommendation of the Court of Inquiry. It also contains 2 photocopied chapters from Ontario and the First World War, 1914-1918: a collection of documents.

Contains ephemera relating to the Toronto Women's Press Club, [1915?]-1922, information about Jane Larrington's membership in same, 1982, 1986, as well as photographs and ephemera from the 1955 Canadian Women's Press Club "Overseas Tour".

File consists of pages from a ledger book from the Acadian Athletic Club. The book includes meeting minutes from the first meeting, as well as for subsequent meetings, and accounts information.

Fonds consists of material accumulated and kept by Ross Dixon relating to his entrepreneurial interests, career, and personal life, and to the philanthropic activities of Ross and Doris Dixon. The material documents some aspects of his personal interests and childhood, his early career, and his career in industrial relations at Uniroyal Canada (formerly the Dominion Rubber Company).

A significant portion of the fonds relates to the businesses he formed outside of his professional career, the Westmount Construction Company and Westmont Enterprises Limited, for the period from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. These records document trends in suburban home-building and design during that time and include a large number of architectural drawings.

The fonds is not comprehensive, lacking documentation relating to the formation and administration of the Westmount Construction Company and Westmont Enterprises Limited and containing only a small amount of material relating the other area of his entrepreneurial activities, investment and financial services.

Fonds includes correspondence, newspaper clippings, advertising material, architectural drawings, legal documents, photographs, accounting records, reports, handwritten notes, certificates, speeches, company publications, minutes, financial statements, ephemera, and other material.

Fonds consists of material relating to biology, zoology and conservation interests and activities of Dr. John D. Detwiler from to 1919-1965. Includes documentation of Ontario fish hatchery investigations and brook trout feeding experiments. Includes correspondence, manuscripts and typescripts by himself and others, offprints and reprints, teaching materials, newspaper clippings and glass slides.

Fonds consists of unpublished typescripts and manuscripts by Robert Alden Sanborn. Influenced by the work of Carl Jung, the unpublished works are predominantly related to Sanborn's interest in the social development of children and several of the drafts consist of narratives about young girls referred to as "Little Anna" and "Bunty". Also included is collected ephemera and correspondence between Sanborn and his family, colleagues and publishing contacts, including his editor Olive Burchfiel (1888-1960), as well as writing by Sanborn's mother, Mary Farley Sanborn, including a published version of "The Valor Ranch" (1914); a typescript version of the poem "My Eighth of May"; and a clipping of the poem "The Barrel-Stave."

The typescript is an essay reviewing Maurice Maeterlinck's play "Blue Bird".

Fonds consists of correspondence to Lester Paige Breckenridge from Anson Stokes, William H. Taft, A.T. Hadley and Hiram Bingham, dating from 1912 to 1921. Three of the letters have a Yale University header and are addressed to Breckenridge in New Haven, Connecticut.

Collection consists of materials relating to the personal and professional life of Marie Stopes as well as to the history of birth control. Includes biographical materials, articles and ephemera related to birth control, correspondence, and ms. drafts of a biography of Stopes by Ruth Hall.

File consists of one film reel showing the exterior and operations of the R. Forbes Co. woollen mill in Hespeler (Cambridge), Ontario. The mill would later become the Dominion Woollen and Worsted Mill.

Fonds consists of two letters patents for the Canadian Suffrage Association. One is dated October 20, 1910 and incorporates Suffrage Headquarters Limited and the other dated April 12, 1912, incorporating the Canadian Suffrage Association.

Fonds consists of one charcoal drawing by Arthur Lismer of Elizabeth Styring Nutt of Halifax. Elizabeth was principal of the Victoria School of Art and Design in Halifax (later NSCAD) in the period immediately following Lismer's time there.

The B.M. Bower Western Novels Collection, acquired in 2015, consists of over 70 American western novels written by Bertha Muzzy Sinclair (known as B.M. Bower) and her husband Bertrand Sinclair. Many of the books in this collection also feature pictorial cover art.

A collection of food circulars distributed during the First World War in both Canada and the United States. The circulars provide information on food nutrition, rationing and recipes.

Fonds consists of one lithography stone used to print materials for Joseph E. Seagram and Sons.

Among the subjects are three individuals who would later serve as mayor of Berlin or Kitchener following its 1916 name change: William Daum Euler (1914-1917), David Gross Jr. (1917-1919), and Nicholas Asmussen (1925 -1926). William Daum Euler was also elected to the House of Commons of Canada (1917) and Nicholas Asmussen to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario (1919-1926). Both represented Waterloo North, Ontario in their Federal political office.

Consists of sewing patterns, manuscript recipe books and other material belonging to Flora J. Reaman during her school days and married life.

The fonds consists mostly of files relating to some of Percy R. Hilborn's areas of service to the community, including Freeport Sanitarium, Preston War Service Association and Waterloo College and Associate Faculties fundraising. Several Havergal College notebooks belonging to Gertrude R. Wells, who became P.R. Hilborn's wife, are also present.

Fonds consists of twelve daily diaries, intermittently spanning between 1907 and 1948, that contain entries pertaining to daily farm operations. Included, though unrelated, are two ledgers from a Berlin (Kitchener), Ontario general store for the years 1893 and 1907. Accounts listed include purchases by John King, father of William Lyon Mackenzie King, that help document the lifestyle of the King family while living at Woodside, now a National Historic Site.
