The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss with other county and township councils the "advisability of organizing a conservation association throughout the territory bordering the Grand River and tributary streams and in Grey County to the north for the purpose of carrying out conservation in all its branches." Includes a memorandum from J.R. Dymond, Secretary, concerning the "Guelph Conference," forwarded to E.F. Roberts by Wm. Philip with note: "This is your baby, Roberts. "
