Includes a contract (plus a carbon copy), correspondence (including a telegram), a report, an inventory of water mains and hydrant connections, and other documents.

File consists of correspondence from the period of March to July, 1898, relating to the negotiations between the Berlin Water Works Company and the Fire and Water Committee of the Town of Berlin about the purchase of the water works by the Town. Correspondence, which includes originals and carbon copies, is among the Berlin Water Works Company, Karl Mueller (chairman of the Fire and Water Committee of Berlin), Willis Chipman (civil engineer and consultant on the case), Bowlby & Clement (solicitors), and others.

File consists of material relating to the settlement of claims between workers and the Board of Water Commissioners for accidents sustained by workers. Includes signed forms releasing and discharging the commissioners from further claims and liabilities, and a typed statement by a worker regarding an accident.

Dopp vs. City of Kitchener, to prevent erection of St. George Street tower.

File consists of material relating to the case of Charles Dopp vs. The Municipal Council of the City of Kitchener, heard before the Supreme Court of Ontario in May, 1927. Dopp, on behalf of himself and the inhabitants of Kitchener, applied for an injunction to prevent the City from erecting a water tower on St. George Street in Kitchener, which was authorized by the Kitchener Water Commission.

Includes carbon copies of legal documents relating to the case, handwritten notes, press clippings, and a letter. Marcel Pequegnat, superintendent and clerk of the Kitchener Water Commission, received a subpoena as part of the proceedings. The water tower was constructed as planned.

Fonds consists of records accumulated by Marcel Pequegnat in his professional roles as superintendent of the Kitchener Water Commission, vice-chairman of the Grand River Conservation Commission, and president of the Arthur Pequegnat Clock Company; and records collected by him relating to the history of these bodies.

Records relating to the Kitchener Water Commission and its predecessor, the Berlin Water Works Company, span from ca. 1887 to 1961, and are mainly from 1898 to the 1930s. Records relating to the Grand River Conservation Commission cover the period from 1939 to 1943. Includes correspondence, contracts and other legal documents, reports, minutes, architectural and technical drawings, photographs and other visual material, press clippings, ephemera, and advertising material.

Property agreements.

File consists of three agreements relating to the transfer of the property at Frederick and Weber Streets in Kitchener (53 to 61 Frederick Street) from Michael Massel to Arthur Pequegnat in 1907, the lease of the building owned by The Berlin and Racycle Manufacturing Company on the property to Dominion Electrohome Industries Limited (1953), and the transfer of the property to the City of Kitchener in 1964. The latter agreement is a photocopy.

Photographs relating to the Kitchener Water Commission depict construction of water works facilities, pump houses, and pumping equipment mainly at the Shoemaker (now Greenbrook) and Strange Street pumping stations. Some photographs include the water commissioners. Photographs relating to the GRCC depict the the construction of the Shand and Conestogo dams.

Series also includes a mid-19th century portrait and cartes-de-visite of unidentified women and men, perhaps friends or relatives of the Pequegnat family.
